iumma
I have decided I want to go to WMC for the first time, and I really know nothing about how to go about it. I have a few general questions about the experience. ANY help from the CP faithful would help! Thanks all....1. Do you have to actually register for WMC, or is that more for people in the business and not fans?2. Where is a good source on the web for info, party events, schedules, etc. ?3. Should you buy tickets to all events you want to hit in advance? 4. What should I expect to spend for the Wed-Sun experience in total?5. If I go by myself, will I still have a good time?3. At 32, will I be an old man down there? I figure if I dont go now, I will never go...4. Any other advice would be great. Thank you!
nifer
1. you do not have to register for the conference. although it can get you some sort of 'priority' at some of the parties, it's mostly for being able to go to the seminars/workshops/talks and schmoozing2. http://www.wmcon.com/thelist3. it can make it a lot easier4. i usually expect to spend at least 2k there, including accomodation/flight5. sure6. at 32, you are far from old7. don't expect a relaxing vacation! But if you see a crazy looking bald man down there that week, say hi, it may just be me!!you're in jersey, right? there are still a few flights from PHL that are under $300. also, if you fly on american air, you get a 10% discount. hopefully though, you already have a place to stay down there. the hotels/condos get booked pretty quickly.
