In its? second year of operations, the vagabond and its staff, partners and promotional team have continue to raise funds and goods for causes in our community spanning from haitian relief, south ridge high school arts department, toys for tots, and most recently breast cancer awareness.. this deep commitment to humanitarianism rings true with co-owner and world-renowned dj john digweed. through their solid and continued support of the communities they reside, decade-long business partners and vagabond co-owners john digweed and carmel ophir, discussed what could be done to ?give back?. the answer was simple. they chose to tackle an issue that is of great significance to us all ? homelessness. despite geographical distance, john digweed?s involvement in the vagabond is an affirmation of his commitment to developing fledgling urban centers into thriving humanitarian-minded business sectors. on thursday july 16th, 2009 ? the vagabond, along with support by shake, miami new times, cooljunkie, gtc media, clubflyers, bedrock, and creations join forces for a benefit headlined to be headlined by john digweed - the proceeds of which will be donated to community partnership for homeless. community partnership for homeless is a not-for-profit shelter that assists homeless men, women and children in transitioning off the streets and on their way to attaining greater stability and self-sufficiency in their lives. they provide not only food and shelter, but comprehensive case management, healthcare, daycare and job training. we hope this charitable partnership will not only raise funds for cphi but also increase awareness of the existence of these facilities and raise community consciousness regarding the homelessness issue at large. join us in a celebration of music to help accomplish the mission of offering dignity and hope to all, so that no persons sleep on the streets of our community. early arrival is strongly suggested. don't forget to bring your id, the credit card that you used to purchase your tickets and your receipt or we will not release your tickets. in case of complications with pick up you must see the door manager in order to record/document the problem. if your problem is not documented you will not qualify for a refund.
