Pl0t presents: :::::::::::::::::the standoff::::::::::::::::: with: matt "el mariachi" tolfrey + larry "el loco" ursini **and the return of video meets radio as "the sheriff" (with live visual treats)!** friday sept 18 ___________________________________________________ matt tolfrey [leftroom records _ cocoon recordings _ crosstown rebels] for the last few years, everything has been falling into place for matt tolfrey. he quickly stepped up from playing at local bars to holding down residencies at stealth and the bomb, two of the country?s most respected underground clubs. he?s been billed alongside the likes of richie hawtin, damian lazarus, craig richards, ricardo villalobos and andy weatherall to name just a (very) few. he?s played at some of the best clubs in the uk, including regular slots at fabric, and worldwide he?s guested everywhere from ibiza, to berlin, to australia. as well as all this, he?s running two of his own labels named leftroom and leftroom limited (www.leftroom.com), and he has tracks signed to labels with co-producer craig sylvester. recently matt also has teamed up with crosstown rebels, by joining the new rebel dj agency. so how did he come so far so quickly? the answer is simple. matt is a workaholic with a seemingly tireless dedication to forging his own unique style. drawing on everything from deep house and techno, through to stripped down bleeps and germanic mayhem, he?s spawned his own hybrid strain of electronic funk. anyone lucky enough to have already witnessed matt in action will know that his particular brand of mutant-house has the power to win hearts and destroy minds on the dance floor crazy larry [wagon repair _ airdrop _ auralism _ siteholder _ cheapsunglasses] larry ursini is one of the co-creators of the very successful "cheap sunglasses" collective. based in denver and new york and known for throwing infamous after-hours events at some of america's most notorious festivals, including wmc. he's shared the stage with acclaimed artists like: cassy, bruno pronsato, dixon, matthias tanzaman, martin landsky, jamie jones, and much more. he is a young talent that has no fear when it comes to new technology and embraces it fully. all the while he still retains a certain spot in his heart for a really nice piece of wax. this love for the new and the old and his insatiable craving to learn more landed larry a part time job at where else...casa del soul records in denver under the watchful eye of dj sense'. there he had learned firsthand about many aspects of the industry along with the art and business of being a dj. since then, larry has been slowly but surely making a name for himself throwing parties and booking events at the shelter and vinyl nightclubs while holding dj residencies in the clubs as well, not to mention some debaucherous after-hours and a touch of traveling. his influences range from old school r&b, soul, and funk and being inspired by the casa crew dj's, martin landsky, ricardo villalobos, and zip, larry has his feet planted firmly on the ground when it comes to the old and the new and trying to incorporate that into his music. after spending some time working on solo productions and remixes, larry teamed up with pier bucci while he was in town for a gig. the end result: the rocky mountains ep on the infamous vancouver/berlin transplant label, wagon repair. the new duo is called glacier. the two continue to work together so watch out for upcoming projects. currently getting inspiration from dj's like craig richards, three, michael mayer, and bill patrick, larry ursini is all about pushing the records you may not know, but really enjoy shaking your ass to, so if you?re after quality and not chart topping hits, you might want to give crazy larry a listen. ___________________________________________________ along w/ basti [pl0t _ mia] michael christopher [pl0t _ mia] the electric pickle friday, september 18 doors open at 10pm
