MURK BIO, House Music legends Oscar G. & Ralph Falcon, aka Murk, Murk Boys, Deep South, Liberty City and Funky Green Dogs, are one of the most successful dance production duos in the world. For more than a decade, the pair has created hundreds of original songs and productions that have pounded over the sound systems of clubs worldwide, enticing club goers to the dance floor. The Murk sound is created with dark, pulsating tribal beats, unforgettable melodies and soulful vocals. Early beginnings...... The members of Murk first met in Miami during grade school, and according to Oscar, many of the names they’ve used over the years while creating their music “were things from our childhood or areas in Miami. We’ve always been very proud of our Miami roots, and I think this was a simple way of including that.†Legendary house producers (and remixers, too)...... Considered prominent house producers on a global scale, Oscar G. and Ralph Falcon got their start in the winter of 1991 when the Murk boys and Murk records first stormed onto the dance music world with their debut collaborative creation, Intruder’s “You Got Me.†It was from that moment that Murk, aka Oscar and Ralph, went on to create a string of house classics that would forever change the dance music industry. From the eternal Sound Factory classic, Liberty City’s “Some Lovin,’†to Billboard’s #1 Funky Green Dogs’ “Fired Up!,†the Murk sound has compelled the likes of Madonna, Mary J. Blige, Cher, Seal, Pet Shop Boys, Luis Miguel, Spice Girls, Donna Summer and many other major artists to merge their respective sounds together. Their Tommy Boy debut..... The first single from the album, Murk’s remake of their Liberty City classic “Some Lovin,’†featuring the vocals of Kristine W., topped the Billboard Hot Dance Music Club Play chart and also held the #1 position on the CVC video club play chart. On "Time" Murk’s long-time friend and collaborator Greg "Stryke" Chin, an accomplished producer and DJ in his own right, lends his vocals. Murk decided to tap into his lesser known talent – singing – and were more than pleased with the outcome...so much so that they decided to co-write and have him sing "Let Me Go" on the album as well. On “True†Tamara Wallace, the lead vocalist for the Funky Green Dogs project, holds the mic. When asked what makes their combination with Tamara so successful, Murk says, “We recorded two full-length albums with her. She is probably the easiest person to work with we have come across and is a pro in every sense of the word. She has great control of her voice and an incredible knack for harmonies. Although we have been working together for so long, we had never collaborated on writing. We decided to try it out on ’Believe’ and were blown away by her talent as a writer. It is a true pleasure working with Tamara and we feel this is her strongest vocal performance to date.†Although Murk have worked with “Oba†Frank Lords several times in the past including "Alright," their most recent #1 Billboard Single, “Afro-Cuba†was the first time they collaborated with him on a song from beginning to end. A fusion of traditional Cuban gua-guanco and House music, the spiritual, festive sound of Afro-Cuban rhythms pound throughout the track. Given that all three are Cuban, tapping into their culture and roots created a spellbinding, dance track – Cuban style. “Oba†Frank played all the live percussion parts and did all of the chanting. With their newest release, Murk has once again created an album full of infectious beats and original sounds. If there is one thing that Murk has proven, it is that consistency is the best policy when developing a career in this ever-changing industry. And if their past is any indication of what the future holds for them, then you can say that the future looks.......well.......Murky. $15.00 pre sale tickets available now! http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/225036
