Guest IFree
Hello... My name is Irving Galarza and I am the CFO for Detroit Movement Guide (www.detroitmovementguide.com). I am also the media and content supervisor for this site. I was born in Aguadilla, P.R. and I am returning to take a much needed vaction and time to hang out with the familia! Any way... I will be travelling alone on Thurs July 22... and staying at the Ambassador Hotel and Casino in the Condado area. So... I'd like to check out the scene there since I will be there till Sunday morning. After that it's time on the west coast in Moca. I would also love the oppertunity to talk shop, scene, music, and maybe even exchange links and other info. I would be honored with any info you all can assist withRegards,Irving GalarzaChief Financial Officer/Media SupervisorDetroit Movement Guideifree@detroitmovementguide.com
Guest IFree
Oh...I am interested in doing a review of the scene and my nights there on our site... this would mean that I need info on any media passes necessary or anything else.I know that San Juan has a techno vibe... I can sense it... but it's been over 6 years since I been there... I got Detroit covered... now I wanna see what my people can do.Regards,Irving Galarza
Guest eljumping
Hey, try checking out Santos when you come over, he's the best Puerto Rico has to offer techno wise. Aguadilla is pretty dull now a days, JDs on thursdays is pretty full but it's mostly perreo music. In Rincon there isnt anything special anymore either, the Landing closed down and the only decent place is now Tamboo Tavern, and don even bother coming down to Mayaguez, is horrible, peace. Guest IFree
Hey thanks for the name drops... I will try and check out Santos. What I really need is a Club guide... or at least phone numbers for me to contact the club managers and tell them about my project "3 Nights in San Juan Clubs - From a Detroit Resident Point of View". Again... I know it is short notice... but all I know is I am taking a taxi from the airport to the hotel. And I don't care to be stuck at a casino or a hotel bar drinking LI Iced Teas... not that it's a bad thing... but I really wanna check out the clubs there. I am mostly trying to schedule stuff for Thurs the 22nd thru Sat the 24. Any guidence would be appreciated.
Guest eljumping
well, umm, check out the Cool Junkie launch party @ Dali, its a nice comfy place in old san juan that is inspired by its namesake, afterhours are good at club 1104 in condado, they open till about 9 or 10 am, with residents John Ender and Red, Beach Bum also has after hours, and is down the street from 1104. Umm be sure to check out the new club Elements at Tetuan Street in old san Juan besides Lava bar, you can find most of these places phone numbers at the bars and clubs section of he San Juan cool junkie page, or you can also check out www.noctambulo.com and www.frecuenciaelectronica.com
Guest IFree
Ok... now we are talking! I just emailed CLUB 1104, that's seems pretty awesome for Thursday & Friday night. When is the launch party @Dali? And an address for the venu would be cool as well. (I checked the bars&Clubs Section but does not seem it's listed.) What night is best for Beach Bum? Again... looking for the best examples of electronica, house, techno in San Juan, 2 venues a night would be great (starter then an afterhour), Thurs, Fri, & Sat.Thanks again. Guest eljumping
Beach Bum is good on friday nights, this friday night is Amys birthday with a couple of locals too, which should be good after the launch party at Dali, also, at 1104, you have free admission when you show evidence of being at the launch party and theyll be spinning till noon. 1104 is great after 6 or 7 Am. You can also check out Candela bar in Old San Juan for a starter for saturday night, its got a nice ambient and chill house groove to it. Guest IFree
Sounds like I am definitely getting the info I needed. I will definitely be at Dali for the launch party, and I will be at CLUB1104 for the after. John "Ender" Rios was gracious and kind enough to email me and I spoke to him via cell phone to talk about the scene. I will also be interviewing him and hopefully Roland as well to post as part of my article for DMG (Detroit Movement Guide). I am arriving at about 9-10pm on thurs so hopefully I can catch the breakbeat DJ's at BeachBum. I am staying at the Ambassador Hotel & Casino on Ashford so I am presuming I am close to alot of these venues. I would like to thank all of you for your input so far and I look forward to meeting all or some of you while I am there... Thurs is my solo night in San Juan... Friday I have some familia stuff to do but I have informed them that my night is booked because I need to do this article (Damn... I love being a CFO for this reason exactly... work excuses!). I will be documenting as much as possible. Guess this means I should complete my packing... LOL! I will post a link to pics of me so that those of you who wish to say "Hello" will know me by face... http://www.detroitmovementguide.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=208 look for the guy in front of Detroit Ren Cen and me with my Ferrari shirt. I am also on page 2 with Dennis Cox, John Aquaviva (both good friends) and Grimace, promo guy for DMG.Peace and remember... life begins at 120BPM!P.S. If any one would like for me to call them or you can call me email me directly at ifree@detroitmovementguide.com
