Peter Sellers lived life through the characters he created for the films Dr. Strangelove, Being There and the Pink Panther series, and the same level of surreal experience permeates this one. Director Stephen Hopkins plays with genre to the full, creating no ordinary biopic. The film's set, soundtrack and styling, meanwhile, all appeal to lovers of British nostalgia — just put Austin Powers out of your mind.
