Kerry: It's worth dying for UN, not US

Here is a quote from a news story running in the Washington Post. Kerry apparently made the following statement on CNN Late Edition in 1994.

Discussing the possibility of U.S. troops being killed in Bosnia, he said, 'If you mean dying in the course of the United Nations effort, yes, it is worth that. If you mean dying American troops unilaterally going in with some false presumption that we can affect the outcome, the answer is unequivocally no.'"

I guess Bosnia passed the "Global Test".

This is a global war between civilization and barbarism, as the Hassan kidnapping illustrates.

Unilateral military action from any one country in the face of unified opposition from other nations and international legal bodies like the UN is morally equivalent to the lawless attacks from the terrorists.

Committing unilateral lawless military acts to pursue lawless military criminals is hypocrisy.

Committing unilateral lawless military acts to enforce resolutions drafted by an international legal body is the HEIGHT of hypocrisy.

That's what Kerry was talking about. That's the context that you're leaving out in order to get your jab in there. If you want to bring up that issue then we can do that but I will take it from an out-of-context jab at Kerry into what Kerry was actually talking about.

So Kerry's comment is basically that if we are the World Cops, then there is honor in a solider dying in the line of duty as World Cop, on a legal World Cop operation. He is also saying that there is NOT honor in that same soldier dying on a FAKE World Cop operation, a lawless unilateral military act with nefarious motives such as a personal vendetta or financial gain.

I happen to agree with Kerry completely.
