ACAPELLAS... HOW ARE THEY MADE?

Recommended Posts

OK - Here Goes...

When a producer creates a song, they use a computer program called a Sequencer to organize (program) all the sounds that make up the complete song... There might be three tracks of bass, four tracks of percussion, three tracks of vocals, etc... Accapellas are made when the producer mutes all the tracks but the vocal (either in the sequencer or on the mixing board) and records the results — just the vocals...

Contrary to popular belief there is no machine that actually REMOVES instrumentation from a song completely... There are some machines that can come somewhat close, but they are MAD expensive (50G's +), and still only remove sound from certain frequency ranges, so they aren't reliable... Any accas any of you guys had were definitely made in the first method... smile.gif
