Ok I'm going CRAZY with my PC today.....I have no clue WTF is wrong with it???

Ok here's the deal, the files on my desktop take about 1 minute to open after I click on them.....so does IE, now MSN explorer opens immidiately.

I have done everything that can be done, Viru Scan, Ad Aware, Control Panel.....even gone to Microsoft.com to see if it said anything regarding this, LEt me know if anyone else is going through the same thing and what the HELL needs to be done to fix it!!!

ROTFL ;D. Ok we'll have to go through a checklist here.

1. Have you defragged your hard drive?

2. No viruses?

3. Have you tried system restore?

4. Do you have hard drive space left over?

5. How long have you had your hard drive?

6. How much memory do you have?

7. Can you afford to trash or sell your PC and buy a Mac Mini (i just couldn't resist adding that in there). ;D

If you need help going through the first 6 steps just PM me and I'll try to give you detailed info. Reminder... computing doesn't have to be that way.... somewhere a Mac is waiting for you.

PS... if all else fails... For liquor and a small amount of cash.. if the liquor is an inordinately high amount for the task at hand... (then you can forget the latter method of gratitude)... I will provide my time tested... battle weary consulting services. 8)

Actually after I did the Disk Cleanup, which Pod recommended I might add ::)....my PC is great!!!

So I think that might have been the issue, I will definitely keep you updated!!!

my liver needs to be cleaned up :|

can someone suggest somethin' ?

Alcohol.

Actually after I did the Disk Cleanup, which Pod recommended I might add ::)....my PC is great!!!

That would've been my catch all step #4 . ;) When a PC is running great (the short mean time between another common failure)... its a perfect time to sell to another unfortunate soul.... you can do it here and then buy my 20 for your new Mac ---> http://miami.craigslist.org/sys/ ;D

To maintain a PC your looking at:

1. Disc Cleanup

2. Disc Defragment

3. Norton Anti-Virus

4. Spyware Removal

5. Security Updates

4 more extra steps than on a Mac. Disc defragging and Norton AV taking the longest.... well not counting security updates. I had forgotten about disc cleanup in my daily diatribe against PC's... thanks Pod and LdySphynx. O' I also forgot about registry cleaners.. but thats for serious windows geeks.

It took you long enough, to tell me that.....Pod warned me about it! ::)!!!

I see... Pod is now an agent for the dark side. Did he also tell you that only fashionistas have Macs?

P.S. O' you build PC's for a living.. that is kinda sexy :P.. even though its PC's. ;D

here is a little tip...go to IE Settings, advanced tab and check off to empty Temporary Internet Files when exiting. This helps trememdously. Windows uses swap file extensively and if they are full(Temp, Temp Internet Files, etc...) It will slow down pc big time.
