Hooliganism.

Wow, so much for Europeans claiming to be civilized. See, deep down inside we're all a bunch of misfits.

Mali Prime Minister: Team will pay

BAMAKO, Mali (AP) -- Prime Minister Ousmane Issoufe Maiga said Mali's soccer team will pay for losing a World Cup qualifying game which sparked rioting, looting and the destruction of monuments in the capital Bamako.

"All the consequences of the players' acts will backfire," Maiga said without elaborating on Monday, a day after the match and hours of street violence.

The Mali team looked down silently in humiliation when they faced angry government ministers, who berated them during a state television broadcast on Monday night....

Last year the FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association) fined the fans. I believe in France the FIFA closed a few games to the general public. The teams played the games, and the public was not allowed to attend the games. I thought that was a rather clever way to discipline to the fans and not the teams.

blacking out the games on television would also be good.

We're not ashamed to admit it. What pisses me off is the Euro contingent claiming to be civilized, and then you see stuff like this :o

the US isn't a soccer nation... it may have a positive future.. but as of right now, its a joke..

(an american missed a penalty today in the uefa champions league quarter final.. his name.. demarcus beasley... good thing his dutch and brazilian team mates bailed him out) :P

ive been saying that for a while. good rallies are so rare these days, although grass does help a bit. the womens game is so much more exciting.
