prime right now is about 6.1%....

At some banks it's slightly lower, maybe at ultra best 5.8, but more than likey no one can get those rates.

I doubt you'll ever get those rates. Be aware, you may show up for the closing and your rate will be higher

but don't freak out, a few things to consider:

avg person lives in a house for 8.2 years

If you are gonna move sooner than you think, then rethink your mtg.

also interest is tax deductable, so a higher rate doesn't kill you.

AVOID PMI!!!! Do what you can to avoid pmi...

nope, walk into any bank, wamu, chase, wachovia, look at thier prime then read the fine print...

then come back here and tell me what they say....

you'll see, that you will not get those rates...

last month the 30 year fixed was 5.93%, rates have gone up...

Bling if you don't have to sell, then you are fine, but for the brokers and loan officers especially those who have to compete with wamu and such, it's gonna be a rough year.. So I bailed... Back in the market..

wachovia 2-yrs ago.. i only put 10% down and they didn't charge me pmi... and a low interest rate (under 6%).

The only guys who made money in my office, was a spanish dude that rips off non english speaking dade county people, and one guy who has a flock working for him, cold calling and the boss gives him stacks of leads. He probably has 150 aps to try and close a month. If I had a 150 aps a month to close, i'd make money to. On avg, we'd have 15 decent aps to try and close a month, rule of thumb, is 1 out of 10, which equals, making no money..
