No rent. Just sales. They did make some valid points in the article, its meant to keep away the speculators, "tire kickers"....basically those that have no intention of buying anything.

It sounds crazy but if you are serious about purchasing a unit I guess its a good idea. You can get a full refund back if you dont like it so the only issue would be is someone having that cash up front, which to buy a condo they would most likely need anyway.

Yep, chances are if your buying an $800,000 condo, you can afford the $2500 down payment

Sounds like what they do at auctions. In real estate, you often times need a $10,000 cashier's check just to get admitted into the auction.
