Guest Satz Posted July 24 Report Share Posted July 24 So I returned to Space since Deep Dish on Memorial Day Weekend. Got there around 4am and caught the last part of his set in the main room. I was impressed with what he was playing and I think it's the hardest room to rock in Miami. He did a good job.Then it was up to the Terrace. When I arrived Cedric was playing and at first I wasn't digging it, but he got in to his groove and the really started to rock, esp. when he dropped Yoshimoto - Do What you Do - Trentmoller mix (thanks Renzo). I got to talk to Nic again for a couple minutes. Nice guy and deserving of his success. Apparently he's living in Ibiza and is the resident at Space on Sundays. Good for him!!In any case, the last time I heard Fanciulli at Space was on 1/2/05 and on that day he became one of my MOST favorite DJ's. That day he played all types of music, including all sorts of vocals so I was a bit disappointed that I didn't hear one vocal this morning, albeit he was playing some great acidy techy house. I still dig Fanciulli, but I guess I shouldn't have had any assumptions of what his sound would be like. Expectation is the path to disappointment.Cedric had interludes here and there during Fanciulli's set and he dropped some bad ass tracks, like the Queen remix. But then he played Washing Machine...that track was good the first time I heard it and since then it sucked. Otherwise, good job by Cedric and good job by Nic.On another note, every time I went to the bathroom, and heard Ivano in the main room I was in awe. I never heard him play such hard music. He was ROCKING. At one point, I thought I heard some hard house. MMMMMM...hard house. There were even times I didn't want to go back to the terrace.My ratings based upon previous sets by said DJ's:Nic Main Room : 8 (impressive)Nic Terrace : 6.75 (I liked his last set much better...it was a 10)Cedric Terrace : 7.75 (on the night of 5/28 he played a 15)Ivano Main Room : 8.75It was great seeing everyone today. Chibale (stop throwing crap), Renzo (nice meeting you), Michael Louis(sorry I missed your set on Fri), Bling(I got some deep house for you), Assassin(ugh Jager bombs), Kirk(gentelman as always), CrzyC(I $ CrzyC), Spyder(I'm sorry), Pod(where were you when I needed you), Pornstar(the lightweight checked out early), Rolly(lookin like a pimp), Erica(I only got to see u when I was leaving ), Biz(I may look 22, but my wife is 21), & Alki(pull your pants up). Guest Civs Posted July 24 Report Share Posted July 24 nice. haven't had the pleasure of hearing Nic, but after this review, i guess it's time. i heard this set:VA-Mixmag Live Mixed By Nic Fanciulli-2004and it was ok. not the greatest so haven't become a fan yet. will check him out next time he is in town.
