Guest trancepriest
Just got a new surround sound system... this was the first movie I watched (again) with it. Kick ass audio... depth charges going off, machine gun fire whizzing by, sounds of waves lapping in perfect envelopment. A proper surround sound system completely changes the experience of home movies. Now I have to view Saving Private Ryan with DTS audio. Guest JMT
it may have sounded good, but this movie was mediocre. the title should have been "sub movie by numbers". nevermind the fact the english were the ones who captured the first enigma. Guest trancepriest
DTS???why not THX???The THX system is not a recording technology, and it does not specify a sound recording format; all digital (Dolby Digital, SDDS) and all analog sound formats (Dolby SR, Ultra-Stereo) can be "shown in THX." THX is mainly a quality assurance system.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ThxMy surround sound system is THX certified... but that's not a format for playback. DTS (Digital Theater System) is a playback format that has less compressed audio than Dolby Digital.
