I wouldn't worry too much about tickets just yet. No matter what you will definitely find something fun to do in Miami for New Years! As far as shopes, do you know where you are staying? So I can tell you about places close by. If you are going to be staying on South Beach, there are lot of clothing and designer stores down Collins Ave and on Lincoln Mall / road. South beach is 1st to 25th street and you are on 184th. if u can, i would suggest to get the Best Western on 1050 Washington Avenue or even 4333 Collins Avenue. But seems like you want the resort feel. Either way, clubs are too expensive and personally, not worth it. The party is on the streets. Ocean Drive is closed off and you can have a great time.
