If not for George Foreman's success in his older age, the new Rocky wouldn't get made. Stallone should have done the sixth installment way earlier. The fifth one just sucked.

if you didnt like anything about the 5th, you arent a true rocky fan.

cut out sly's kid, and its a great movie.

But that's like saying if a team didn't commit 5 turnovers in a football game, they would have won. You have to admit the fifth movie is the weakest in the series.

a game isnt subjective like a movie. i like them all so to me there is no weakest, only lesser degrees of good. the kid was lame, but i also think sly's acting in V is the best since the first one.

random story... a few years back, in my 'fins season ticket days, sly was in a box right behind our section. he was trying to stay low-key and hidden, but word got around and soon the entire corner of the stadium was chanting "rocky, rocky, rocky!" for about a full minute until he finally peeked out and gave a wave to everyone. i thought it was pretty funny.

Dude, I LOVED the 5th Rocky movie, just the whole fact that it wasn't the same old movie ending in the ring, and that he was just wanting to relive his boxing days thru his protege was AWESOME!!!!

I agree the 5th Rocky Movie was great and the acting was even better. Seeing Rocky go from being a Rich man to a Broke Boxer struggling to make it. Really depicts the story of a lot of boxers today.

So should he be rich in the next flick? Should the fight in Rocky 6 be about how he regains his wealth or should he still be in debt after it?

I agree with Millsie, Rocky 5 was the weakest link. It might have had more substance than the other flicks, but it just wasn't as good.

I read that in the 6th installment, a publicity stunt goes bad and he has to fight in order to keep face.

I heard that Roy Jones JR. might be the antagonist.

btw my favorite Rocky flick is Rocky IV.

Me too. He's retired and perhaps over the hill, his friend is killed and he has to avenge his friend's death against a seemingly invincible machine in enemy territory. It's like a nation against one guy.

The training scenes are just fucking awesome. I love "Hearts on Fire." I'll stop everything I'm doing when those scenes come on tv.
