My only complain is this...Why haven't they give Sage Rosenfeld a chance yet, everyone that is a true Dolfan wants this to happen.

Also why ddidn't they run the bal with 3rd and 2 instead of letting Gus Frerotte give up the game.

Another thing is whats with the Dolphin Receivers, they dont want to jump or slide for a pass. And they seem to have butterfingers since they cant catch the ball when needed, so many drop passes that its ridiculous.

Something has to give and we need Sage in the Game not Gus, the guy is a proven loser of a quaterback time to move on.

Nick Saban...

I have my own opinion of him, since he is a former football coach at Michigan State....(before he left them in a total lurch for LSU)...

From what I know, there was a lot of shady dealings with him when he was at MSU, and later at LSU....

How many times will NFL owners realize that the transition between NCAA and the NFL is a one-way street....NFL coaches usually succeed at the college level, but it is rare that NCAA coaches succeed at the NFL level without some sort of experience first (like being a assistant to a good head coach)...

Pete Carrol and Charlie Weis are two good examples....Steve Spurrier is also a good example....

saban was an assistant for belichick in cleveland.

i dont know much about his stint at MSU, but i have heard stories of how he can be very difficult to work with/for and has not necessarily made a lot friends along the way.

you are completely correct about how the percentage of college coaches who succeed in the NFL is very low. i for one was against saban coming to miami when it was obvious H wayne had the hots for him. but of course, im holding out hope he can make us a contender.

HELLO.... the dolphins were only supposed to win 3 games and have the top pick next year.

The dolphins are so thin in so many areas because of the previous gm/coaching staff. that it amazing that they have won this many games so far

i dont agree. nowadays in this league teams go from worst to first regularly. last year they lost a lot of close games and their record didnt reflect that that.

the only positions they are "thin" at is O-line, and quarterback.

regardless of whatever reasons anyone wants to state, giving away games is still giving away games, which exactly what they just did.

I think the Fins are fine. This is probably an 8-8 team at best. It takes time for a new regime. Next year, they could be $25M under the cap. And has anyone noticed the draft picks Saban is stockpiling? By this time next year, Dolfans could see a Philip Rivers or Drew Brees at qb, some quality o-line free agent acquisitions and an influx of young talent on all sides of the ball. Their time is coming soon.

I AGREE 100% They are no better than an 8-8 team but have improved greatly from last year. Our draft pics are doing great. 3 are starting on defense and obviously ronnie at RB. We are so far under the cap we will be able to fill our gaps with some good players in the offseason. Someone above mentioned you can go from being last to first in one season. What team did that?? Did I miss something?? Getting an offense together takes time. Improving a defense could happen in one offseason (ie the colts) but an offense is so complex that to get everyone on the same page simply takes time. The play calling is not bad either. They are not being conservative like in the past The dolphins would never go deep (THAT REALLY PISSED ME OFF). This year they are spreading the ball around.

The one thing killing us is penalties. You take away a few penalties and we are atleast a 500 team. It cost us the jets and buffalo game.

There time is coming soon

Im predicting playoffs as soon as next year.

Bengals 1989: 8-8 1990: 9-7, Lost divisional round

Bengals 1987: 4-11 1988: 12-4, Lost Super Bowl

Colts 1986: 3-13 1987: 9-6, Lost divisonal round

Bengals 1980: 6-10 1981: 12-4, Lost Super Bowl

Bucs 1978: 5-11 1979: 10-6, Lost NFC title game

Colts 1974: 2-12 1975: 10-4, Lost divisional round

Packers 1971: 4-8-2 1972: 10-4, Lost divisional round

during an eight-year period from 1996 to 2003, 8 of the 16 Super Bowl teams came off losing or .500 seasons:

1996 Patriots

From 6-10 to 11-5

Coach Bill Parcells didn't want to draft Terry Glenn (above), but the No. 1 pick caught 90 passes for 1,132 yards and six touchdowns. After the Patriots lost 35-21 to Green Bay, Parcells left New England and became coach of the New York Jets.

1998 Falcons

From 7-9 to 14-2

Safety Eugene Robinson was the key that season in solidifying the Atlanta secondary, although he embarrassed himself on Super Bowl eve when he was arrested for soliciting an undercover police officer. It was a shocking distraction the night before the Falcons appeared in the NFL title game for the first time in their 33-year history, and it didn't help as they lost 34-19 to Denver. Robinson was burned on the game's biggest play - an 80-yard touchdown pass to Rod Smith.

1999 Rams

From 4-12 to 13-3

A promising season looked doomed from the start when quarterback Trent Green sustained a season-ending injury and his backup was an unknown Arena League player named Kurt Warner. The rest is history as Warner had one of the finest NFL seasons ever and the Rams held off Tennessee 23-16. Running back Marshall Faulk, acquired from the Colts, justified his new contract with a 1,000-yard season in both rushing and receiving.

1999 Titans

From 8-8 to 13-3

The Titans leaned on their No. 1 pick, Jevon "The Freak" Kearse (above), who led the AFC in sacks with 14.5. Their postseason kicked off with the "Music City Miracle," in which Kevin Dyson returned a lateral 75 yards for the winning touchdown against Buffalo with 16 seconds left in the game. Unfortunately for Dyson, he was one yard short against the Rams in the Super Bowl three weeks later.

2000 Ravens

From 8-8 to 12-4

In his first NFL season, fifth overall pick Jamal Lewis relegated Priest Holmes to the bench. Quarterback Trent Dilfer and tight end Shannon Sharpe were team leaders. Linebacker Ray Lewis, only the seventh defensive player chosen as Super Bowl MVP, showed that defense really does win championships. That came after Lewis was charged with murder, along with two friends in his limousine, when a street brawl left two men dead outside a nightclub after the Super Bowl the previous year in Atlanta.

2000 Giants

From 7-9 to 12-4

Free agents LT Lomas Brown and LG Glenn Parker gave Kerry Collins plenty of pass protection throughout their surprising season. The Giants weren't able to keep the magic going in the championship game, however, as the Ravens dominated 34-7 and scored a Super Bowl-record three touchdowns in 36 seconds.

2001 Patriots

From 5-11 to 11-5

The new guys helped the Patriots turn it around. Defensive end Richard Seymour and offensive tackle Matt Light started as rookies; linebacker Mike Vrabel came from the Steelers. As it turned out, kicker Adam Vinatieri established himself as Mr. Clutch with his last-minute winning kick that beat the Rams 20-17.

2003 Panthers

From 7-9 to 11-5

Running back Stephen Davis (1,444 yards) came from Washington, and quarterback Jake Delhomme from New Orleans. They also fell victim to the Patriots and a late Vinatieri kick, losing 32-29.

Dude I dont see your fantasy football prediction coming true on sunday. I wouldn't be shocked if the Dolphins won this game against the Patriots, the Dolphins have made stupid little mistakes which has caused them to lose close games. If the Phins play their cards right sunday and play liek they did against Carolina and Denver then the Patriots are in trouble.

The Phins are playing in their house @ 1pm and I got faith in them, no matter what their record is the Dolphins have always given the Patriots a hard game.

You must not be a Dolphins fan and you must not watch the games closely. The Dolphins haven't gotten blownout, the only game they were completely out of it was the KC game. All the other games the Dolphins have played have been close games that they could of tied or even won.

yeah they obviously dont have a great QB and they dont have the best Secondary out there either and their receivers cant catch even if crazy glue was pasted on their gloves. They dont have anybody that the Fantasy Footbal dweebs are going crazy for, but the Dolphins record defintely doesn't reflect their play but sooner or later people will get the Saban Philosophy. it takes time.

I'm a true fan and the Dolphins are going to win Sunday...if New England walks out the winner it will for sure be a close one.
