Guest DaGoose
You are a surgeon at a large hospital. Your committee must make a very important decision. Seven patients need a heart transplant. There is only one heart donor at this time. The patients all need the heart equally as much as the other. All patients could receive the heart. Which patient would you choose to receive the heart? Why? 1. A famous brain surgeon at the height of her career. Single, black woman, no children, 31 years old.2. A 12 year old musician, Japanese girl.3. A 40 year old teacher. Hispanic male, 2 children.4. A 15 year old pregnant girl. Unmarried, caucasian, no other children.5. A 35 year old Roman Catholic Priest.6. A 17 year old waitress. Caucasian, High School dropout. Helps support her family with her earnings.7. A 38 year old scientist close to discovering a cure for AIDS. Chinese woman, no children, lesbian. Guest DaGoose
Keep in mind the famous brain surgeon at the height of their career--is also going to save many people. Then you also have the younger kids that still have a whole life in front of them.
Guest swirlundergrounder
Keep in mind the famous brain surgeon at the height of their career--is also going to save many people. Then you also have the younger kids that still have a whole life in front of them. But finding the cure for AIDS will will save many millions of lives of the people who have it and the many millions of people who could potentially be infected by it. Preventing a world wide outbreak of a disease like AIDS is paramount over a single life IMO. But it is a tough scenario and if I were the surgeon making the decision I do know that I would loose a lot of sleep over it for the rest of my life. I mean if you find the cure for AIDS, you solve a huge problem in Africa. If Africa was rid of AIDS, it would bring 10 to 20 years of progress instantly. Which would in turn have a whole affect on the worldPlus all the swingers can have free sex again...
