Guest pod Posted February 14 Report Share Posted February 14 Well, from what I know, he doesn't travel much since he gets what a touring DJ gets without leaving home. He's insanely popular in New York. And insanely popular DJs is what dance music needs right now. You guys might be all immortals in clubland, but if JP's sounds get people into dance music, that's a good thing as far as I'm concerned. Same goes for PvD, Denny, Tiësto, and all the other top jocks you guys like to rip on, often for the sake of ripping on them. Not everyone can or wants to be a dance music expert. Coming from a perspective of never hearing him before in any length, I thought he didn't do bad when I heard him at Space a few months back. He lost the crowd when the sun came up, but that's to be expected, since he never played for that crowd before. A lot of you guys ask that people be objective for "your" DJs, I think it should apply for all of them. I'll go into a PvD night with the same goal as I do when say, Desyn or Danny Howells is on the decks, and that is to find the bar and get drunk as fast as possible. ;DLet's put it this way, I've heard a lot worse.
