Guest ramon
Myles Hie, I just realized you also say cereal. Not to sound like a total mong but I use that terminology as well. Anyway, about the festival, there's something magical about seeing dance music only/mainly in a festival setting.. Rage Against the Machine I've seen twice and they were amazing both times. Besides that band and the Roots (don't remember, oh RHCP) I would end up in the dance music tents more. I still would rather go to the SAMC festival (name?) or something like Love Parade, or I Love Techno.. On the other hand if I won the trip or had the money I would definitely be up for it. I see your point but,..EDM needs more exposure and this is one of the best ways imo. Take a look at Ultra compared to Coachella, Ultra tried all dance the first few years and have since eased more rock into the bill and is still treading water, Where as from the get go Coachella used the smarter "shotgun" effect to the music selection to capture a wider audience and they are thriving. I would love to see a hugely succesfull EDM festival, but right now there is just not enough consumer to back it.Plus Coachella get 10 extra cool points for getting RATM back together. werd.Successful EDM festival is DEMF. Paxahau took it over in 1 year and made a profit. This year is going to be insane I'm sure.
Guest pod
Is it a true profit or just someone saying "yeah we made money..." I could throw a festival tomorrow and tell you I made a million bucks profit. Since I'm not a public traded company, I'm under no legal obligation to show you my books. My friend from Manchester says that and I don't know if that's an English slang word or something? jajajajaja He says it so hilarious too, "that guy's all monged.." I spend too much time reading the UK boards. Mong is short for mongoloid, aka, face chewer, e-tard, and the more locally used pookie head. But the Brits use it as a noun and a verb. Those kooky cats.. Yeah, I couldn't help adopting some of these words either, they are just too fun and prefect in descriptions.

I guess like Global Gathering but they didn't make it either. I actually went and had a great time but then again I wasn't in the rock stage at all. I went only for some of NIN but it was too crowded and left anyway.. As far as RATM, they always freaked me out when I saw them at Ultra, too much performance weirdness for me. What other rock music bands of around that time did you listen to? My favorite since I was 14, first concert first row, is U2 but that band's for life. They were called Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids, i wonder what happened to those guys..

I have lost a few over the years. > I used to help sell merch at thier shows at "The Satanic Bakesale" and i have left a couple of original tapes, shirts and such from that time. My most prized posession was a tape recording of a live show they did on the radio in Tampa at the local rock stations studios for like Halloween or something in like 92 or 93. Fucking amazing! They wern't necesarrily the best musicians, but the style they played was so unique and thier performances were so raw and intense. Their unique blend of culture and music was incredible. It was definitely a cool and memorable part of my life.

I went to several PJ shows, would have loved to have seen AIC and saw Soundgarden at Lolapalooza along with Rage that time. We could rock out together. I was also lucky enough to see Page and Plant when they did the "No Quarter" tour with Rusted Root opening for them, that was a great show too. 8)

In my top 3 band performances of all time, 2nd row center, it rained and i had backstage passes, good times fo sho. Saw them at the Ft Laud baseball stadium too. Saw Soundgarden at Lollapalooza 2 at Bayfront, Saw Jane's Addiction at Bayfront with "Goldie" opening of all people, awesome show.
