There's really no good music-oriented parties out there. Maybe one or two at the absolute most.

This girl I know who DJed at Ice when it was open is really despondent. You think Miami's music scene is bad, wait till you get to Vegas.

Just grab a girl and do what comes naturally.

dakota?

late nite empire is great, starts @ 4am sat and sun mornings (across from monte carlo)

largest funktion one is the country (or so was last feb when i was last there) and farsheed spins good tunes.

sunday rehab party @ the hard rock pool was fun too, half naked chicks and music, drinks and an enormous pool, thats the spot

jet @ mirage, can have good music, but just great venue, tile led's on the ceiling!

other than that id be out on the strip in the casinos doing it up. soo much to do in that place, and walking through all the hotels is a must do imo

Yep. Used to live around here a few years back. She mentioned Late Night Empire, and the odd night at Jet, but her and her crew are in a bad state now since Ice closed. Ice was to Vegas as Space is to Miami. It was "the" megaclub where the DJ-oriented crowd congregated.

I was in Vegas in January among many other times and you can expect lots of hip hop and pop music everywhere you go. I think they do this to be safe with the tourists. I heard Jet has a house room, but maybe someone else can confirm that as I've never been there. The patio at Pure plays house music and has good view of the strip.

As far as nice clubs, I'd recommend Pure, Tao, & Moon Club. Nice clubs without the Sobe pretentious door people. Check out Drai's afterhours at the Barbary Coast late for house music.

Don't let the hip hop scare you too much. The party vibe in Vegas makes up for the bad music because most everyone is excited to be in Vegas. Check the events too because occassionally a big name DJ will play at Jet or House of Blues.

Have Fun!

Ice and Rain were my two faves out there. Ice since it was "my kind of place"...great Funktion-One sound, killer lighting, and decent music.

Rain because of the massive Dynacord rig, and the flamethrowers. Fire and shit!!!! I nearly died. The girl I was with had to drag me out of there.

Fire is so fucking cool, they need pyrotechnics in Miami clubs.

i was just there last weekend now that i moved from miami to phoenix just a couple weeks back i should be getting up there alot this summer.

I would also add the Drais afterhours in the barbary coast has been going for a long time, maybe not as great as it once was is what locals told me this wknd but still good. i loved it 4 yrs ago

seamless is a strip club that turns into a afterhours after 2. the dj is a really solid local. plus you also get to look at strippers, (who dont bother you) while dancing it up on the floor.

tao brings in talent memorial day morillo will be there i also went to the new tao beach's soft opening pool party on sunday.

i guess cedric is playing a pool party at the palms too during memorial day wknd

its summer so pool parties between rehab, tao and palms

then afterhours at empire, drais and seamless

i forgot about tao, it is pretty cool as well, they have the chicks in the bathtubs, i think sunday nights they play house there now, or did a lil while back

i thought pure's terrace was cool too, being dead center of the strip with all those lights was a pretty cool scene, i got some of my best pics from there, he played house, so i was happy.

ghostbar is one of those holy shit type views as well...i want to go back to vegas!

Just got back from Vegas yesterday. Everywhere I went was open format. Went to Mix (Mandalay), Tao (Venetian), Tangerine (Treasure Island), and Playboy Club (Palms). It was 100 degrees during the day. Rehab just started again this past weekend.

It's unbelievable to me how much Vegas changes each time I go back. The development never stops.

You guys/girls should try the Moon Club at the Palms. It's got the Playboy club downstairs with the girls dressed up in bunny costumes serving drinks and card dealers. I heard the Moon club is a retractable roof club(self explanatory I guess). It was too cold in January for them to drop the roof. Sure the weather's fine now. Cool view of the strip to on their patio.

The Monte Carlo is a good hotel. It's not on the Bellagio/Wynn Las Vegas/THEhotel level, but I am sure you won't be disappointed, especially since the Monte Carlo has a microbrewery in it. If youo're into large construction projects (and really, what guy isn't?) ask for a room facing north, as you will be looking over MGM Mirage's Citycenter, the largest private construction project in US history at $7.4 billion.

On the Wednesday night that you arrive, head over to the Hard Rock's club, Body English, for Ministry of Sound's party. Saturday night I recommend Tao, as on Saturday nights they will be opening up Tao Beach to the club crowd.

I was there last year.

That being said, unless you gamble, it gets boring as fuck after three days.

You will have a blast . . . I recommend checking out this website just before your trip as it will be updated for the dates you will be out there:

http://www.lasvegasweekly.com/2007/04/26/hotspots.html

I would check out Metal Skool at the Hard Rock:

Body English: Metal Skool begins its 11-week run, doors 9 p.m., show 10 p.m.
