all4tribal1414779019 Posted September 12 Report Share Posted September 12 As i read thru some of the threads i've noticed nothing has change about the whole "door drama" with clubs in miami or any other major city.One of the biggest reasons i don't go to the beach nowadays. After going to every club/lounge down there, i tend to avoid venus that make guys wait more than 10-20 minutes in line. It's one thing to make someone wait a few minutes, but 1-2 hours is a slap on the face.Why should men get treated like dog shit at the door when they are the ones getting tables, bottles, tabs, i can go on n on.Sure a club does not want to be "labeled" as "guy door friendly" as some homophobic people might think of it as a gay bar/venue, however it seems that every year the whole door drama gets worse and worse. Specially for the locals that don't go out as much as they used to.I remember way back in the day when Mynt leather pants "Fabrizio's wannabes" would make couples wait, than they would let their girlfriends inside and make the guys wait in line. I am sure that has not changed. I still think night clubs should obtain the same rules that strip clubs have when it comes to the door.Only let girls in if they r being escorted by guys. Why? Well women "generally" don't spend money in a club like men do. Sure women can afford it and i know many that buy their own drinks, but strip clubs at least the big ones do not let women by themselves inside their venue.Deep down unless you are 18-21 years old that you must sell your soul to get into a club, how desperate can you be and how much of the abuse will you take? Guest web_norah Posted September 12 Report Share Posted September 12 while i agree with a lot of what you state...unfortunately, girls, especially hot girls also don't hang at sausage fests, that's something perhaps some of the CJ women can attest to, the atmosphere doesn't flow when you have 20 guys to a woman, a meat rack environment....especially in lounge type places....larger clubs ---well it is slightly different, you gotta deal with it.i think the whole ratio thing at the door is for that purpose, to make the going out experience better for everybody and the whole exclusivity / looks thing. i also agree couples should be let in...rather than keep all the men outside and have 500 chicks inside the club.and from what i remember, i spent my own money when i was out drinking....one thing is a friend buying you a drink but i never went out clubbing expecting MY bar tab to be covered....thats an open invite to assholes hitting on you, for the most part. Guest web_norah Posted September 12 Report Share Posted September 12 that's why people often make the comparison to places like Ibiza or London and it just doesn't equal the same deal ...yes, the music there is great, no doubt ...but clubbers drink at 12 euros a pop and £8-10 a drink in the UK....that's how clubs make their money and book the talent ....plus people pay door entry on top of that.and of course, we're talking a different market altogether, Miami is different and has its own thing going on ... You want easy door and good music, hit Blue, Laundry Bar, or Boom boom room. Maybe Dek 23 or Pawn Shop, too. And certianly Space.But, if you want to hang out with some hot chicks, you are gonna have to put up with some door shit. This is why I always make sure that I either know someone with clout or get on the right lists. It's not really that hard. I've only been here a few years and I did it. I'm not a hottie, I'm not rich, I'm not in the biz. But I'm friendly, outgoing, and I spend a reasong amount of $$$. And I'm here all year. That's the one thing I really love about Miami, it IS all about who you know. Some cities are so impersonal, you can't find the hookup no matter what. And this has been talked about a lot on here. But you have to understand that yes the vip bottle crowd is what really makes most clubs money. And no one wants to be in a club full of guys. It’s all about have Lots of sexy woman, and some guys spending lots of money on them. If you let all the guys in, then you have too many guys in the club. Now yes, some door guys are just plan asses and the door is just too crazy. But the club normally does this for a reason too. Im sure paying for a second or maybe third guy would not cost too much cash flow for the venue when the door gets hectic.I am talking about guys in general, getting treated like scums at the door. You plan your night out, get ready, call all your friends, than you get to the door, and you get treated like shit, so you think to yourself "hmmmm, does this club really deserves my money?".One person not spending 20-300 bucks that night might not hurt the venue's profits, but think about how many potential clients that could've spent alot more at the bar/vip if they got treated with "respect" at the door. It's all about first impression.If i go to a hotel expecting 5 star amenities, service, hospitality, and once i get there there's no customer service support, employees treat me like shit, chances are i would not go back. Seems like clubs haven't really caught up to that, or they just don't give a fuck because they feel that the club will be full regardless of who gets in. I still feel that if you treat someone right to begin with not only will you get repeative business, but that's the best advertising money you will ever spend hence referrals.
