This episode of the HEAR series will stray away from the live sets, machines, and computer programs, and turn to the DJ big guns - HELLO?REPEAT labelheads JAN KRUEGER (Berlin) and DAZE MAXIM (Dusseldorf).

On this journey, get ready to embrace the warm comprehensive grooves of two of the most sought after DJs in minimal house. Don't be surprised if the way you see DJing as an art form is reconditioned...these guys are the real deal.

Providing support alongside HEAR residents Delinquent Frequency will be local vinyl legends Andrew Kelley and Alex Villalobos, as well as Andrei Osyka of the new L.A. based label - CULPRIT.

Its 1995 in Düsseldorf - Jan's hometown - and he's consumed by the Music of Labels like M-Plant, Relief, Sound Signature, Planet E or Phono. His first steps to present his record selection not only to his lovely dog and cat at home, Jan owes to a very good friend who holds a residency at one of the best underground clubs for electronic music. An old wine cellar located in Wuppertal near Düsseldorf. Here he had the pleasure to play along site artists who inspired him since the early nineties. In short - this is the precise starting point of a never ending story fuelled by love for the music. In 1996 Jan started to work for a record store and focused on hosting his own parties starring international guests like Daniel Bell, Matthew Herbert, Ata or Steve Bug. At nearly the same time he meets the young and promising producer Daze Maxim. Both clicked right away and found out that they have a quit similar interest in electronic music. Both decided to start some excursions in Maxims backroom studio to produce deep and minimal house tracks which were finally released on Matthias Tanzmanns Moon Harbour Recordings in 2001. Three years later Jan determined after sleepless nights to leave physically Düsseldorf and all his friends in order to start a new chapter in Hamburg. In fact of his long friendship to the stuff of Germanys leading distribution company Word and Sound, it was nearby to start as sales manager at this firm. As a consequence of all this, it wasnt a long way to relate together with Daze the proposition of a platform for him and friends. Hello?Repeat was born. As a DJ he fits best in the late night hours, playing his highly individual and addictive mixture of deephouse, minimal and techno with rough edges.

Today Jan lives in Berlin and holds a residency at Panoramabar & Watergate and plays considerably abroad to represent the high quality sound of Hello?Repeat.

DAZE MAXIM has established himself as one of the household names of the forward thinking dance music culture for years now. His releases naturally slipped themselves into the bags of almost all the big name djs incl. villalobos, the rumanian crew around Raresh, Pedro and Rhadoo or marco carola and upped themselves to be instant hits at Omen and the hr3 clubnight also causing DAZE to play some storming sets for this legendary radioshow. Maxims intensive interest in composition theory and contemporary music is what sets him aside and made his tracks grow in texture and richness, not found too often in dance music. evidence can be found on compilations such as Cocoon Compilations, Marco Carolas Fabrc Mix,Lucianos Sci Fi Hi Fi 2 for Soma or Circoloco, giving Daze the opportunity to prove his liveact & djing skills in all the major clubs europewide, such as panorama bar / berlin, rex / paris or the fuse in brussels. While others get themself into a certain genre and sound, Daze Maxim doesnt want to limit himself playing music from all corners of the 4/4, from deephouse through techhouse to techno and back. This openminded spirit is the red line going through his entire discography from day one. never stopping, always challenging himself and establishing labels like hello? repeat with fellow Jan Krüger on the side is the drive emerging from DAZE and when one has a closer look into the backcatalougue of H?R, the rising demand on the first releases tell about the true quality and pioneership of such projects as HEARTZ4 ( another DAZE moniker ). Speaking of which, the longterm involvement with Bruno Pronsato on H?R has found a new manifestation : Others is the forwardthinking project arising from both experimentalists vision. Maxims skills on the saxophone and jazz musicality came into play to push things even further. after a long 2008 and numerous dj-gigs around europe DAZE MAXIM is still not tired of travelling. We will see him travel through the US and Japan, graceing more dancefloors with his musical vision and talent.
