DubSpot Instructor DJ Shiftee To Compete In DMC USA Finals | Summer DJ Classes

DubSpot Instructor & DMC Supremacy World Champion DJ Shiftee is one of the premiere battle DJs in the world. As the 2007 DMC Supremacy World Champion and 2008 IDA/ITF World Vice Champion, he actively performs turntablist showcases, Your browser may not support display of this image. experimental group projects, and party sets throughout the globe. Shiftee will be teaching several upcomming DubSpot DJ classes this summer including the DJ Extensive Package, Turntabilism, and Weekend Workshops in Traktor. On Saturday, August 1 watch Shiftee compete for the national DMC title at Santos Party House. In anticipation of the epic battles ahead, and to give the public an idea how this turntable master performs and teaches, we are releasing a special series of turntablism videos created by the man himself. Featured are some of the techniques that got him where he is today, giving a small taste of what people can learn here at DubSpot.

Little be known to the public, Shiftee is a man of many faces, spicing up his life with Salsa dance before a tragic injury that forced a drastic re-alignment of his career. Loath to loose his entire Latin flavor, he has incorporated these stylings into his DJ instruction (kinda).

In just two short years, DubSpot has fully emerged as a force in the electronic music world. The Ableton Live 8 U.S. Sessions Tour will continue this Fall in Los Angeles in October, then move on to 5 other cities including Seattle, Chicago, Atlanta, Austin and Washington D.C. And that's just this first round. The tour will continue to grow, and continue to be the ambassador of DubSpot's devotion to excellence in electronic music. By providing unique opportunities for established and aspiring artists alike to develop their knowledge, careers, and production and performance abilities, DubSpot will secure and advance its position on the cutting edge of electronic music education!

In Our DJ School Student Learn To

-Use standard Technics turntables and the latest in digital DJ technology, including the CDJ--1000's, Serato Scratch Live, & NI's Traktor Pro

- Blend two songs so they sound as one by developing a keen sense of rhythm and timing.

-Execute clean mixes and develop unique sound textures.

-Mix all styles of music - EDM, Techno, House, Hip-Hop, Dub, Soul, Funk, Downtempo, Bossa, Electro, Disco, Rock, Afro, Dancehall, Jazz, Latin, or whatever else you can imagine.

July 21: DJ Beginner & Extensive packages Tuesdays will begin with DJ OBaH at 7:15pm.

July 21: Turntablism classes meeting on Tuesday will begin with 2007 DMC World Supremacy champ DJ Shiftee at 5:15pm. 1st class will include a special guest, Precision from the Executioners!

August 18th: DJing with Video class with Lars of DVJ Vision begins Tuesdays at 5:15pm.
