trancewhore
Everyone is well aware of the increase in popularity in trance/techno music. I mean, I'm sure most of you have seen Oakenfold's comm. for Another World. Do you think this is a bad thing, that it's going to get to popular and fade out......OR do you think that this is a good thing, that the music of the heavens will finally give he world something to unite about and come together?? prophecy
Well I for one am all for it to a certain extent. IF producers/djs/artists can reach these mainstream crowds through good marketing tactics and tight tunes there is nothing wrong with it in my mind. However, if they are changing what they are doing to fit the molds of others than I am not such a fan of the idea. At the sametime, the more "our" music hits the mainstream the better off we are. This will help to prove that it is just plain good music and doesnt have to be drug induced. If we can get more of modern-day suburbia into the music culture and not the drugs than we are making things much easier for ourselves. Maybe when this starts to happen we will be able to go back to our old skool parties and be left alone. It is possible. However the key is to remember that this music that reaches the mainstream must be positive. None of the tracks or album titles should have negative titles especially ones that make references to drugs. This will only set us back light years. agree? cubano43
I think it would be good if it show the rest of the US that TnT(Techno & trance) has nothing to do with drugs(XTC). It's all about the music not the drugs. But I could only speak for myself. ------------------The World is mine!!
back2basics-
Ok here's what i think..It takes time for some people to get into our music. If you neck your first pill, go out and listen to this music you WILL get into it... and that's how most people do get into it.If that's not the case it takes a while, espesially if you are into rock. Now it's no coincidence that middle America didn't start hearing it till Prodigy, The Chems. & Underworld. They had crossover appeal and started people interest into the who idea. Now it's filtering down slowly.BT has released a bloody comercial album with guitars and a band, i i think he is out to tap into where the REAL money still is in America. They are tryiong to tip the balance over to Elecronica. Again in Europe Electronica is the biggest selling type of music, over here it's not even close to being the majour flavour.Somebody has to do it these people arn't just going to wake up one morning and be converted. ------------------I want to go out blazing..not fade away.I can STILL resist ANYTHING but temptation.
