johnb
OK, I havent been DJing but a year so these records arent that old, and I only play in houses/afterparties, etc, but these are big hits and I always have to bring them in during a set even though I and most of my audience have heard them 1 million times but:DT's mix of FlashHow's your evening so far? by WinkJohnB

back2basics-
I got a sub question, if you wouldn't mind answering as well.Do you turn the volume down if somebody has been on before you? To build it back up?------------------I want to go out blazing..not fade away. When the party was in progress and unidentified frequency has been existing in the system for some time - Freak Frequency
spoonyd
For me, volume has to do with the number of people in the space and the overall quality of the sound. If the floor starts to empty, I'll lower the volume. If I think the previous guy was tweeking a bit too much, I'll drop it.I try to let the songs control the energy level, not the volume.------------------if you're bored: Sat. russ reign
If they've been playing too hard for the room or time of night, ill just shut the record off and keep it silent for a minute before I go on Otherwise, if they did a good job I'll just mix right in Originally posted by back2basics-:I got a sub question, if you wouldn't mind answering as well.Do you turn the volume down if somebody has been on before you? matta
oops, i put down my fav mix cd. If you're asking my favourite track... too hard... eerr... the one that got me into dance music all those years ago.... Chemical Beats (dave clarke remix)... hope that isn't too offensive. Old Orbital tracks are good though..
neumonic
I really never gave it much tought. I always have different stuff every week. I would say thats how you build up a following by giving the people something new to play every week.But--If I had to choose one it would be Paul van dyke "Bring my family back"

djthomasb
I don't know if you guys have heard it over there but over here the tune that I get most people busting a sweat to was and still is "I feel love" - CRW - Jam X and De Leon mix - Nukleuz
lextacy
"the one song: ATB, 9pm, my legs will just start bouncing up down, I canttttt stopp my leggsss....."I love that one too. You know that was voted like the worst track of the year by so many DJ magazines??? I disagree!!!! It's popular and all but it's SO good!!! But my favorite is a mix tape by HUSH called Harmony. If you guys haven't heard it, you should totally pick it up. It's house with live bongo drums......it's excellent. Total comfort music....
