PEACE DIVISION TO WORK WITH UNDERWORLD?

Peace Division have revealed that they are planning to record a track with Karl

Hyde from Underworld.

Talking exclusively to Muzik Weekly about the recording of the second Peace

Division album on Low Pressings, due early this summer, he revealed that “We've

got a few vocalists lined up but we're keeping them under wraps for now. But

there's one track that would really work with Karl Hyde from Underworld. His

voice would be perfect in fact."

Muzik Weekly understands that discussions are currently taking place to turn the

idea into a reality.

Peace Divison have just completed a mix of Afrix's 'Zakamucyo' on Chilli Funk

which Clive described as "eleven minutes of big room madness." Peace Division

can also be seen live at The Boutique Weekender in Camber Sands on March 16th -

18th.

PRODIGY CALL IN DAN THE AUTOMATOR

After a protracted silence from the Prodigy camp, US hip-hop uber-producer Dan

‘The Automator’ Nakamura has just finished some work in the studio on the

follow-up to ‘The Fat Of The Land’, Muzik Weekly can reveal.

Speaking to the US website www.sonicnet.com, Nakamura said he has been helping

with the mixing on at least one track from the work-in-progress album. “I’m just

getting ready to go into the studio (myself). I just did some stuff for the

Prodigy. I was helping work out a mix for their record. Maybe it’s the single, I

don’t know.”

However, enthusiastic fans who might see this revelation as evidence towards a

nearly completed album are set for a disappointment. “I think they’re only like

a little bit, or maybe halfway, done.”

However, Nakumura was able to reveal that he and Prince Paul were about to

embark on the follow up to their celebrity-toting Handsome Boy Modeling School

album ‘So. . . How’s Your Girl’. “We should be back in the studio in February or

March,” he revealed. “We’re doing a couple of DJ shows in February, and we’re

going to work on our schedules, but we’re definitely doing the second one in the

early spring. It probably won’t come out until the early part of next year.”

X-PRESS 2 START TALKING HEADS

Currently in the studio working on their debut album for Skint, X-Press 2 have

announced that former Talking Heads vocalist David Byrne has contributed vocals

to a brand new track, currently under the working title of 'Lazy'. "David Byrne

is a contact we made in the old Ballistic Brother days," said X-Press 2 mainstay

Rocky. "We're delighted to have finally been able to work with David. He's a

visionary in anyone's book. The track isn't finished as yet, but it's heading in

the right direction."

X-Press 2 have also announced details of their new single 'Muzikizum' - it's

mooted for an April release - and a new club residency. The trio are to play

Saturday nights at Fabric once a month, starting on the 3rd of February.

CHEMS JOIN NEW ORDER

New Order’s new album is set to feature a collaboration with the Chemical

Brothers, drummer Stephen Morris revealed this week.

Speaking exclusively to NME.COM, Morris also revealed that the album looks set

for an Autumn release.

“It’s going good,” he said. “We’re set to start mixing it in March with the idea

of getting it out in the autumn. We’ve been working with Steve Osborne so he’ll

be mixing it. The Chemical Brothers are doing a track. I don’t know that it’s

got a title yet, we’re still not very good with titles. But we’ve sent them a

track and they’re doing what they do. It’s got singing on it, it’s virtually

finished, but let’s see what they do. That’s kind of the most keyboardy track

we’ve done, which is probably why they’ve got it.”

New Order’s Bernard Sumner previously provided guitar and vocals for ‘Out Of

Control’ on the Chem’s most recent album ‘Surrender’.
