Oakenfold stars in new clubbing film

Recommended Posts

Not content with being one of the most ludicrously well-paid DJ's on the planet, Paul Oakenfold is now aiming for Hollywood ... well, Brixton actually. He's going to be starring in South West Nine, the latest piece of clubbing cinematography ...

The film is the latest offering from Fruit Salad Films, makers of the hit club flick, Human Traffic. The plot traces a day in the clubs and bars of Brixton, the hippest corner in London's run-down South East.

Aside from Oakenfold, breakbeat DJ, Lol Hammond, will also feature in the film. Though Oakey grew up in SE London, he is now rumoured to be moving to the US. Hammond, on the other hand, remains a real Brixton boy, and plays regular slots at Brixton's Dogstar and Mass. Hammond will be taking part in the making of the soundtrack for South West Nine and speculation is brewing as to whether any pieces of Oakenfold's mastery will be contributing to the film.
