monical Posted March 21 Report Share Posted March 21 what does everyone think of these oxygen bars that seem to multipying in their availability these days. i know they are pretty popular in clubs out in LA, but seems like they are making there way into new york. i actually tried one this weekend, and felt nothing....think it's a gimmick?? monical Posted March 21 Author Report Share Posted March 21 you put this semi-mask on, with tubes connected to some cool machines, and supposedly you are being fed pure oxygen, all diff't types and you're supposed to get some sort of high, the only thing it did for me is clear my nose, and gave me a semi-lightheaded feeling...but i think it was more mental than physical, since i knew going it what it was supposed to do...i've seen them at float, metronome, cream... back2basics- Posted March 21 Report Share Posted March 21 Yeh it has two effects, 1) it makes you slightly leight headeaded.2) and the REAL reason for it, is you get pissed quicker. It's the same theory behind the bubble in Champagne (the smallerthe bubbles the more expensive the champagne and the quicker it hits you).It does work, i have one a block away from my apartment. There are flavored oxygen's that are suppose to give you some sort of natural high. modelNY Posted March 22 Report Share Posted March 22 O2 bars were open in NYC a few years ago, they shut down and now are back "in". If memory serves me correctly Float is like $8 for a few minutes.
