Irvine Welsh Fans

I was thinking of keeping this to myself so I could get a seat, but my higher self won so for any who cares, Irvine Welsh himself is reading tonight at 7:30 at the Barnes and Noble at Union Sq. I'm def. going so if anyone is down, I'll see you there.

does he have a new book out?

He used to do readings in clubs, they would stop teh music he would take his applause and read. Not a good idea IMO, but people gave him props.

yeah, its called glue- haven't read it yet, so I don't know how it compares to his other stuff. Maybe he's getting mellow in his old age, reading at corporate chain bookstores instead of clubs. cwm3.gif

i've read glue and it's ok.... better than his last one but i prefer his short stories.

I heard there are some reoccuring characters from Trainspotting in Glue (Sickboy and Spud?)

In any case sounds great..Mugz and I will be there with a copy of Glue to be autographed!

nice to see that there are some people who like irvine welsh on the board...

...

i like some of his books myself...

my favourite (and i know it is probably a common answer) is trainspotting...

...

i read the book...then the film came out...

the film was good, but the book was much better(like in most cases)...

...

he created this atmosphere so well, i really felt "in" the story...and i love the writing with the accent in...classic...
