dieg0
I just read this article from http://www.spaced.co.uk/ Rolling on the RiverMiami River nightlife (take two). First there was the awfully named club, X-Scape, promising VIP limo service and helicopter rides for all the moneyed club kids (an oxymoron, really, hence the club's demise) looking to flee the confines of South Beach. Now enter Rio, a clubby collaboration between nightlife legends Louis Canales and Gary James, in which music will attempt to make the people come together on the smarmy banks of the Miami River. Lounges, rooftop garden and, of course, a dancefloor are decked out - or under, rather, in post-modern black and white minimalism. Open on weekends only, Rio will roll out the red carpet this weekend for preview parties and will be open to the public Friday-Sunday thereafter. No passport necessary, although a VIP card will ease the pain of border crossing bigtime. The article is from the 11th of July.So does anybody have any info on this place? Location, music etc? pod
I haven't been there myself, but my boss has, and he says it's not worth the time, cheesy dance mainly...sad thing is, it's been open, but nobody seems to notice. Oh well..
