mugwump Posted August 1 Report Share Posted August 1 DRUM AND BASS IS DEAD!So someone told me at a record store I won't mention only a couple months ago..I was like; "yea?..well why does it still sound fresher than alot of trance I've heard at clubs lately?"So I picked up LTJ Bukem's latest and gave it a spin in my CD walkman...I was moved and then rejuvinated by the Jazzy break beatz and mellodic ambient soundscapes that LTJ is famouse for!I felt that THIRST for another sound quenched and I've been hooked ever since...From then on it's been Breaks and D&B in my headphones!DB and breakbeatscience's party at PS1 re-enforced my jungelist renaissanceand MUTINY at the Frying pan gave me a push towards the beauty of the "Asian underground"..I dug up my Logical Progression CDs haven't been able to put them down...the truth is I feel that Trance/house has become an "empty sound" for me..There is something LACKING..I don't know what it is!perhaps My pendelum is swinging towards breakz and I'll swing back to the world of four on fours soon enough..But I'm enjoying the ride as long as it lasts!ANY ONE ELSE FEELING D&B?*Check out DB's new CD "The Secret Science of.." for some AMAZING chilled out UPLIFTING drum and bass..(I'm not into the darker tech step stuff..though it can be good from time to time)i watched the sun rise with my friend ALBYBACK on his fire escape this morning after Paisley and lifted my spirit like I havent fealt in a looong time.
