a good question!

Ok, this may sound like a dumb question as I don't know anything about the topic, but what causes a yeast infection??? Is it bad hygiene?? Could it start from something else??? I've heard of a lot of good looking, clean looking females getting yeast infections. I don't think it's primarily a hygiene thing. Is it???

The reason someone gets them is....

To much acids, not enough bases, like PH right...

wearing tight pants, or non-breathing clothing, such as silky underwear, or tight ass jeans.

It has nothing to do with being dirty, it just happens to be that some people are prone to it and some are not.....

Yeast infection can actually be started by a lot of different things...well, mostly some girls are just by their immune system more likely to get them than others. They can result as of condom allergy, sugary food, material of clothes etc....so nothing really to do with hygiene, sexual activity etc.

...so even 'hot chicks can get them and hence are in the ads'

Taking the pill can make a woman more succeptible to them, something to do with the hormones; for the same reason some women get them cyclically like their period. How awful, to have to deal with that every month!

Antibiotics are another big cause- they cause an imbalance between the good and bad bacteria. Eating yogurt can help prevent this.
