sonicinfusion Posted October 19 Report Share Posted October 19 Paul Oakenfold, or Oakey to his mum, has signed a North American deal for his solo artist projects with Madonna's Maverick Recording Company. The first fruits of the deal will be his debut album in early 2002 which will be released on Mushroom in the rest of the world.Oakenfold has enjoyed more success in the than most UK DJs even prompting him to move to LA earlier this year. He has been heavily involved in film work including putting together the soundtrack to the John Travolta movie Swordfish and remixing the Planet Of The Apes theme on top of remixing Madonna's What It Feels Like For A Girl.His punishing tour schedule looks like it's finally paying off.Madonna said: 'Paul's instinct and talent are undeniable. I couldn't be happier having him join the Maverick family. He's a perfect fit'. Guy Oseary, co-partner and CEO of Maverick, says: 'We're excited to be working with Paul. As a DJ, he's the best at what he does and we're anxious to help him reach the widest audience possible as an electronic artist.'We don't have a lot of electronic records, just the biggest ones.
