No more benefit of doubt: Bob Brenly is a moron

Recommended Posts

David Dellucci on bench.

Greg Colbrunn on bench.

22 y.o. closer who threw 62 pitches day before pitches again in 9th in Yankee Stadium. Veteran pitchers including Randy Johnson & Albie Lopez sit in bullpen unused.

What's up with this guy?

what in the world do colbrunn and delucci have 2 do with anything? they're bench players. you would have started colbrunn over grace? delucci over sanders?

give him some credit for making a good call with barajas over miller instead

johnson is pitching on saturday night. nobody asides from you would even consider bringing him last night and compromising him for game 6.

albie lopez didn't do too well when he came in the game either.

maybe brenly deserves some criticism for pulling schilling a bit too early in game four, but i fail to see where he deserves any for last night.

it easy to say this and that after the fact..but here it is..the diamondbacks lost there closer(who was real good when healthy)mantie for the year..the guy that replace him and shared the closer role with kim was prinz..he went down with a injury...they have no bullpen..nothing..their two starting pitchers have been so awesome and have been giving them almost complete games everytime out..that has carried them through the playoffs so far..without getting to their bullpen you have no shot at beating them..they don't have one guy in there that can put the yankees away..kim when he is on he is tough..but he can be wild and does get bombed sometimes..they have played a great series..they have played as best they could..and they do not have a great lineup either....it truly is amazing what the yankees are doing..as far as the yankees there hitting sucks..it's clear that this run will be their last with their core hitters..except maybe 5 or 6 guys..the money invested in the starting pitching was more than well spent...there pitching has been unreal through the playoffs..but the biggest reason for all these world series wins..is one guy..rivera..this guy is with out of a doubt.the greatest closer of all time..even last night at 50% he was able to get the job done...this guy gives the yankees a huge advantage over every team they face...

Maybe that was a little harsh but I still think he needs to use the strength of his bench instead of playing sanders, who strikes out a lot against high strike fastball pitchers (rivera), with Colbrunn or Delucci.

WRT to Byung, I guess he knows his pitcher, but the guy threw 62 pitches yesterday and now you're throwing him again in the most high pressure situation in baseball? I just don't think it is the way to go. Brenly is playing like these aren't MUST WIN games.

As bad a year as Lopez had, he still had a 4.00 ERA and was much tougher on Righties.
