MUGS FALLS IN LOVE AGAIN..(and her name is....)

Recommended Posts

I saw that film in Dublin and it is BRILLIANT.

It was an unprecedented success in France, where it continually sold out cinemas for months and became something of a contemporary French cultural icon....at least that's how they described it in the news over there.

Absolutely worth seeing. :D

Emelie..

A French film staring Audrey Tatou (Oh la-laaaa!)

The best film I've seen all year !

By director

Jean-Pierre Jeunet..

*Previous collaborator with Caro

(The masters who brought you such works as :

Delicatessen and THE CITY OF LOST CHILDREN)

A dreamy voyage through France that will

affect YOUR LIFE..

And make you realize that YOU

CAN CHANGE THE LIFE OF EVERYONE

AROUND YOU....

Domino effects of cause And effect can trigger love And

have power over the wicked!

TRUST ME..

THIS FILM WILL MAKE YOU

FEEL LIKE THE MOST MUNDANE THINGS IN LIFE..

ARE PRECIOUS!

*Run and see it before the main stream claims it!

(playing at the Anjelica)

No Jenny..

I'm the last person in the world top like SAPPY

films..

but this French gem really

Saved me last week..

I fealt REFRESHED in life..

And it's got an amazing message..

Plus visual'y it's fucking CRAZIER

Than any action FX thriller you'll see all year...

It's great to watch Cartoon animals come to life,

People Melt into puddles of water,

Hallucination sequences explode in vibrant colors...

Garden Gnomes travelling around the world,

And characters breaking

down the third wall and talking

to the audience..

I'm gonna see this one again..

I HAVE TO!attachment.php?s=&attachmentid=1607

Sorry to diss on the love of your life, mugz, but I just saw this last night and thought it was WAY SAPPY....and not in an enlightening, interesting sort of way. Content-wise, it was not bad, totally enjoyable, but nothing special, and a little too drawn out, dragging badly towards the end. All the little quirkiness that was meant to be symbolic and significant felt contrived and trite to me. Visually it was very beautiful, and she is adorable, but after a while I just kept wishing it had more too it. I thought the best parts by far, were when she was a child, and then it just meandered from there.

Just my 2 1/2 cents.

valid review Sai..

i loved this film and YES..

IT IS SAPPY!

But it has a very beautifull message..

YOU CAN HAVE A VERY STRONG EFFECT

ON OTHER PEOPLE'S LIFES!

And the most insignificant things on this planet

can bring you pleasure!

(The feeling on your hands when placed in a bag of beans,

the joy of a box of toys when you where a child, skipping rocks on water)

It has had mixed reviews in France..

but if you watch this movie without expecting revelations

it hist you harder..

perhaps I hyped up too much for you!

And from a technical stand point it is

'Jeunet's most impressive work..

Unlike his past collaborations with Caro,,

it is a LOVE POEM FOR FRANCE.

Not a dark realm of fantasy like

"City of Lost Children" and

"Delicatesen".

Two great films that are STYLE OVER SUBSTANCE..

I felt Amelie had more meat beyond thebeauty than you give credit to..

but to each is/her own.

Then again I am a highly VISUAL person by nature..

and I love eye candy!

I WOULD TOTALY SEE IT AGAIN!
