I would love to know, whats out there, I mean wow when I think about it, it makes me feel so small and unimportant wow

Perhaps it all ties into the same thing...

Life on other planets..

affected life ON THIS PLANET.

Perhaps all religions are created BY MAN..

based on a series of events that occured world wide..

Much in the same way that the INDIANS WITNESSED

THE CONQUISTADORS ARRIVING IN GOLDEN VESSELS AND CALLED THEM "GODS".

Something we could NOT UNDERSTAND AT THAT TIME

due to our lack of technological understanding.

Take this excerpt from Ezekiel's vision for example

(sound familiar?):

"As I looked, behold, a stormy wind came from out of

the north, and a great cloud, with brightness round it,

and fire flashing forth continually, and in the midst of the fire,

as it where gleaming Bronze.

And from the midst of it came the likeness of

four living creatures.

And this was their appearance:

THEY HAD THE FORM OF MEN"

*Ezekiel was a priest in one of Babylon's captive jewish settlements

in 593 b.c.

In 1968

Josef Blumrich (working for NASA)

built a viable craft

from this description.

i remember in religion class, they would say how god created the universe, planets ect, and then when I would go into science class they'd talk about the big bang theory and all that, and it always confused me. I used to think "why can't they make up their minds its either one or the other lol"

soo true.. however i disagree with the big bang theory... its kind of ignorant to say that our entire existence derived from a collission of stars, planets and so forth...

its kind of like saying... that cars are made by tornados sweeping through junk yards, or babies are made by us running into each other etc... I dont find that very realistic, however I am not a scientist, and i dont really know what Im talking about... so i could be totally wrong here.

You have to agree with here on one thing, ppl in the past were a lot slower and not as bright as we are now today correct?

and im not talking about yest. or 10 yrs ago im talking centuries ago, when all these religions were first forming...

Follow me here... back then it was the ramblings of an individual claiming outrageous claims... Nowadays when this happends we brush it off as a crazy person on the train, or hick in the midwest... maybe all these religions were started by the same type of person just millions of years ago, and since the ppl then were substantially slower, and not as bright as us, they believed it... and followed... (maybe times were so rough, that they might not have believed it at first but it gave them hope...) maybe all these religions are based on that crazy guy on the train or that homeless you threw change at... or that happy go lucky dimwitted hick...

????? IDK if this made sense but I think you see where im going with this??????

I definitely believe there is "intelligent life" out there...BUT here's my question - what is "intelligent life"? How are we to say that our definition of "intelligent life" is the only one? In other words, we will only be looking for "intelligent life" as we can comprehend, eg, carbon or other based solid life-forms. Who's to say that the gas clouds on Jupiter are not really some sort of life-form which communicates in its own way. Thats why I love Arthur C. CLarke's books...his novels try to explore this idea.

Also, Mugwump, I love that quote of Carl Sagan's in your first post. True, maybe (most probably) there are such advanced being out there that we just can't comprehend them right now. The methods that these beings communicate with each other might be as alien to us as cable and radio waves are to tribes in New Guinea.

A finite mind cannot grasp the true complexity of the infinite. Thats what makes living in this universe so precious...and thats why we must put our petty squabbles about land and religion aside and work together to evolve ourselves. There's so much to be discovered out there!

Then how do you explain that many different people WORLD WIDE..

in a time when there was no form of communication where all experiencing the same VISITATIONS and describing them in similar but different ways:

The Egyptians saw BOATS from the sky

*The symbol OF RAH is a Burning Globe with WINGS

(Spoke to them about Immortality and of "Worlds in the heavens"

The Greeks witnessed GENUIOUSES

"Enlightened beings with WINGS coming down from the Sky"

(giving them math formulas and many secrets)

In Isreal (The heaviest sightings)

CHARIOTS OF FIRE, Angels etc..

Mayas, aztecs, african tribes..

(They Maps of the univers, Calanders that are precize beyond any we have today and Double Helix DNA strands

found eatched in pyramids said to be

given to them by WINGED SERPENTS

and so on...)

MANY ANCIENT CIVILIZATIONS SHARED SIMILAR VISONS ALL AROUND THE SAME TIME FRAME..

And they built religions around messangers instructed by these vistors:

(Jeusus, Moses, Buddah, Mohamid etc..)

I believe in time all the original messages

where corrupted and MISTRANSLATED.

If you look at the original HEBREW BIBLE

the Word "GOD" is never written:

It is ELOHIM,

* A PLURAL WORD.

(Translated directly it means:

"THOSE THAT CAME DOWN FROM THE SKY")

hmmmmmm.,...

Religions are man made for sure..

but perhaps the influences reach beyond our

solar system!

Did you ever BUY a book from Barnes and Nobles about a religion, phylosofy or any other idealogy?

Printing aint free hun...

Raelians can't print free books..

nor can anyone for that matter..

lol*

(But you can certainly borrow any book you like from me)

It IS a religion and a way of life that I relate to..

But I will also go on to say that

IT IS NOT FOR ANYONE AND EVERYONE..

I came upon this "world wide organization"

after YEARS of studying World Religions

and coming up with one conclusion:

"Perhaps all religions are ONE..

came from the same messangers(from the Sky)

and where COMPLETELY missunderstood

by primtive man..

THUS sparking all the different religions in the world"

There are MANY books based on this theory:

(Called the Ancient Astrounaut theory)

Erick Von Danicken's:

CHARIOTS OF THE GODS

is perhaps one of the best ones..

I Believe there is a lost part of human kind's history..

That all life on earth has been in contact with an external life form which we knew/know not how to explain

I believe there are traces of their visitations in Archeology,

history....

and ancient religiouse texts all over the world!

*It's like a connect the dot puzzle..

once the picture's clear you have one word:

~ELOHIM~

(Though they have many names all over this planet by many different ancient civilizations)

Well they can certainly afford to have a website/hosting and all.. so i would assume they could afford the filespace to put their beliefs up on the webpage somewhere instead of redirecting me to a shop at every other link. I could only find a minimal amount of real information.

I'm hope that you call guys hun and I didn't get mistaken for a girl ;)

Woops

lol*

sorry DUDE!

heh~

umm..

If you can find an entire book online

let me know..

it will save me a trrip to the bookstore>

(THEY ALSO HAVE THIS BOOK IN SEVERAL

LIBRARIES I CAN POINT YOU TO)

Besides,

I think they give a pretty OVERALL

description on all angles of the "message'

they are spreading.

It is just ONE ANGLE

of what I BELIEVE..

and further more..

WHAT MAKES SENSE TO ME!

(But to each/his her own)

If something interests me enough

I WILL BUY A BOOK TO FURTHER

INVESTIGATE A POSSIBILTY!

I don't see it as Brainwashing

or CONVERTING anyone..

Just sharing a fruit..

ifd you like the way it tastes GREAT!

If you don't dig it..

then you are welcome to try the Fruit stand next door..

*We can all find trees that grow apples..

but it is more common to go the local grocerie store/fruit stand

to purchase it!

(I find nothing ODD about this concept)

JUST FOOD FOR THOUGHT!

example...

let's say you're in the same room as me.

we're sitting in chairs.

there's a table between us.

i sit up, and rap my knuckles on the table.

your ears react by tensing at the sound,

then relaxing again. you say something

to the effect of "well, what's that all

about then, bloke?"

now...

i can accept that this all really happened.

OR

i can theorize that in fact it was all in my mind.

that it was all perceived by me.

that i imagined sitting up and rapping my knuckles

on the table. that i constructed the scene in my imagination.

that your reaction was merely a figment.
