djhal
quick question to the clubheads in the DC area that have driven up to NY, leaving around 3/4pm on a Friday....once on 95, how congested is it around DC/Baltimore? How 'bout the turnpike? thanks...
Kuro
It's been my experience that 95 starts to become a fucking mess around 4 pm, but maybe I was just unlucky enough to have only witnessed bad days.
kramadas
95 is bad from 4:30pm - 6:30/7pm.Of course, you do have lucky days, but those are few and far inbetween!
shadygroovedc
I always leave myself at least five or six hours when driving up to NYC at Rush hour. 3/4 is usually a good time to leave. Traffic is always worse in fall/winter than spring/summer.
bail
I make this trip about once a month on a Friday and if you can get off the Capitol Beltway before 4, you should be ok. You may hit traffic near the tunnels in Baltimore, but its not too bad. The turnpike and the Delaware Memorial Bridge should be ok unless there's an accident or holiday traffic. On a Friday leaving from Bethesda at 4:00, it usually takes about 4.5 hours. Good luck.
vicman
Yeah I agree with most here. Anything around rush hour sux, the turnpike in general sux, and if you get congestion in the turnpike you are a dead man, 'cause your gonna be there for a long while.
