vixenfoxxy
Well it's finally happening... I am **thisclose** to purchasing my turntables and teaching myself to trainwreck - er - I mean, spin. For those of you out there who already know what you're doing, are there any records you recommend me buying to start with? I'm looking to spin mainly house, either hard house or progressive house, something in those domains... Thanks!
laraver
I would recommend really taking a good look at the breaks genre, particularly new school and trance breaks. There are no female DJ's speciallizing in these genres right now. Additionally breaks are set to become a style that will be heard to a greater degree on many floors in the next 12-18 months. That is why places like Centro-Fly have booked acts like Hybrid.Anyway that is my 2 cents.Good luck!
Abstrakt
The only advice I can think of is for you to start spinning stuff you're comfortable with...since you're learning to spin, you're gonna spend MAD hours getting into the swing of things, so you might as well be listening to something you enjoy...so if prog house/trance is your thing then go with that...thats also a good way to start because its easier to learn mixing anything with a 4/4 kick (like house/trance)...good luck! I wanna hear your first mixtape
