The sexy singer, who recently leaped onto the silver screen as a valedictorian who lost her virginity in "Crossroads," confirmed to MTV Europe last week "No, that's not true. Me and Justin did not split up." As of press time, her publicist was not commenting on the matter. Despite her words to the contrary, the New York Post's "Page Six" gossip column insists they did. The proof, says the Post, is in their Saturday night activities. Britney was in Italy at the San Remo Festival. And Justin? He was in Hollywood at some exclusive celeb hotspot called A.D. The Post's source says the 'NSYNC heartthrob was dancing quite closely with "a dark, curly-haired beauty." Rumors of the split were fuelled by reported comments from "close friends" indicating that the couples' hectic schedules left little time for the pop singing pair to be together. 'NSYNC and Timberlake recently launched their tour, and Britney kicks off yet another continent-wide journey in May. The romance of the Mickey Mouse Club vets continues to attract a host of headlines. From speculation about the "Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman" singer's virginity status to headlines of alleged displeasure over kissing scenes with other people from the pop singing pair's respective projects, the couple remains amongst Hollywood's most talked-about celebrities. While some of the circulated rumors have been somewhat amusing, a pair of morning DJ's from Dallas had taken the frenzy to a horrific extreme last year, spreading a story about the couple's supposed death in a car crash. The DJ's later admitted that the story was a prank. If the very alive-and-well couple were ever to truly endure a romantic split, Spears would apparently have no shortage of prospective suitors. After all, we're talking about one of Stuff's "100 Sexiest Women in the World," Cosmo's Pick for "Fun Fearless Female of the Year," and Gear magazine readers' pick for "The Perfect Woman," among other spicy monikers! In a recent poll of more than 18,000 of Date.com's male members, it was revealed that the most popular spot for a Spears date would be out to dinner, with a sporting event, a club and a movie placing second through fourth, respectively. In addition, 88% of the respondents also remarked that they would invite the singer of "Overprotected" and "I'm A Slave For U" back to their place after the date, regardless of the date's progress to that point.
