I feel the real issue here is the potential for permanent psychological or physical damage. 'Real' rape implies unwillingness on the part of the woman or man who is being raped, and thus mental or physical discomfort that is REALLY unwanted. Some people get off on being hurt in various ways and it does not affect them negatively. Others *are* profoundly affected by it. Sexual freedom is important as long as it does not impinge on someone else's freedom to be safe and happy.

If rudeboyyouth has rape fantasties and has found women to enact them upon who alse enjoy it, well... it is their choice and their privacy, and it's far better than him doing 'the real thing'.

However, it's the (implied) idea of him desiring to actually hurt a woman who would NOT want to be hurt that I do not find appealing -- or at all moral.

And that's my pocketchange, or whatnot.

i believe we'll all agree on that...who wants to have sex with someone who doesn't want to do it with him/her? someone who has a serious problem.....and who can't deal with it......ugh.....why is this drama at all?

well, some people might disagree that roleplaying is a normal and healthy part of a couple's sex life.

i too have gone back and forth on the issue... by 'allowing' our partners to enact rape scenes, does it somehow foster the idea that rape is okay? it's related to how some people think pornography is bad because it shows images of women in rather degrading positions; does that MAKE people think women should be degraded, used, abused?... i don't think so, just as i don't think that play-rape is necessarily bad in all cases.

I'm not quite sure I can agree with you on that one... I do think that having certain images presented over and over again, will change people's perception. Having women in porn presented in rather degrading positions and situation, makes a lot of people think that this is the norm and that's how sex should be. Don't you think that people (teens) that grow up with certain images in their heads...do view these images as reality (as they don't have anything else to compare it too) and then act out these scenes???

well, *i* certainly don't think that a woman's role is to present herself as a slut, a cum-target, a whore... despite the fact that i've seen plenty of images that suggest just that. so clearly it's not just the image that makes people think that way. our society is one that still does not have enough open dialogues about prejudice, sexism, homophobia, etc. and no doubt the presentation of such images does reinforce those kinds of negative messages in some cases. i just don't think it's the image ALONE that "makes" people think a certain way.
