http://promtime.com/irving-plaza.php The Fillmore New York at Irving Plaza is a 1,200-person club/ballroom at 17 Irving Place and East 15th Street in New York City that was built in 1914. It was known as Irving Plaza until April 11, 2007. It is adjacent to Union Square Park. The venue, which admits people 16 or older (unless accompanied by an adult), hosts many local and touring, theatre, dance and music performing events in a variety of genres. It was converted in the late 70's from an old Polish dance hall to a rock venue. Over the years, the 3-level auditorium has served as Polish Army Veterans headquarters, a Yiddish theater, a burlesque house (Gypsy Rose Lee stripped here), and a boxing arena.
