  17. Saturday 1.24 KGB & Propaganda presents Lexicon Avenue ft Scott Bradford with Alex Karalanian, Niki McNally & Ed Zang Sullivan Room EXPLORING the deeper, darker reaches of the house music spectrum, Lexicon Avenue's Scott Bradford has forged a rock-solid reputation as a DJ who never fails to deliver .From London to Lisbon, Toronto to Tokyo, and South America to Singapore, the affable spinner is regarded as one of the most consistent performers around. After beginning his DJing career with slots at parties across the North East of England in 1989, Scott teamed up with friend and fellow turntable talent, Scooby, to launch the night at Club Afrika in 1992. Its success snowballed and the pair decided to relocate to the city’s Riverside venue (later renamed Foundation). Continuing to go from strength to strength as word spread both home and abroad, it scooped Muzik magazine’s hotly-contested award for Best Underground Club Night in 2001. By this time, Scott had already begun furthering his standing on the global dance music scene as one-third of the prolific Lexicon Avenue, teaming up with production partners Chris Scott and Mark Armstrong. A formidable force in the development of UK house music since the late 90s, they launched their own label, Forensic, which soon gained immense international respect. Their success means Scott is in demand across the globe, regularly rocking world famous clubs like Pacha in Ibiza, Zouk in Singapore, Trilogy in Dubai, and Womb in Japan. Closer to home, Renaissance and Turnmills welcome him on to the decks on a frequent basis. Such is Lexicon Avenue’s popularity, the trio were chosen to go head-to-head with Dave Seaman to mix the third installment of the Therapy Sessions compilation series. Released in October 2006 on Seaman’s own Audio Therapy label, they blended techier, electro-influenced cuts from Ame, Plastikman and Nick K, attracting a host of rave reviews. His production work is not just restricted to Lexicon Avenue though and along with production partner Chris Scott he has cast his spell using an almost dizzying array of monikers including Little Green Men, New Phunk Theory, Third Movement, Fishead (with Satoshi Tomiie), and Bush People (with Mark Armstrong and Mara‘s Barry Gilbey). Scott also has a brand new production project with fellow Shindig resident, Mark Lowry. Scott also regularly contributes guest mixes for John Digweed’s Kiss FM show, and in October 2006 he featured alongside Pete Tong on Radio One’s Essential Mix which was broadcast live from Shindig. Over the last decade-and-a-half, through Shindig, Forensic Records, Lexicon Avenue and numerous other production guises, Scott Bradford has carved out an enviable position as a DJ you can trust - a DJ who speaks the language of the dance floor. also featuring the sounds of: Alex Karalanian Niki McNally Ed Zang Sullivan Room 218 Sullivan St. (Bleecker & W. 3rd) $15 Advance Tickets: wantickets.com/sullivanroom Guestlist: rsvp@sullivanroom.com Doors at 10pm | 21+ myspace.com/scottbradfordlexiconavenue sullivanroom.com

  19. Friday 1.30 Sullivan Room presents Evil 9 w/ Wavewhore, 2 Damn Cheeky, & The American Dream Team Sullivan Room EVIL 9 Don't be surprised if Brighton based Evil Nine and their forthcoming album They Live! does for zombies what Daft Punk did for robots. With stomping electro drums, '80s Italian horror-movie synths, dirty punk basslines, and a wanton disregard for genre rules, the infamously subversive dance/electronic duo create an unstoppable soundtrack for the new virtual zombie revolution. Creating this army of like-minded iconoclasts is all part of Evil Nine's plan to confound expectations. To that end, They Live! features pounding tracks that will work in any club, but filtered through unexpected influences spanning '80s cock rock, The Cure, early Prince, krautrockers Cluster, Can and Tangerine Dream, vintage noise punkers Suicide and Black Flag, and newer sonic saboteurs TV On The Radio and Queens of the Stone Age. As such, "Behemoth" welds Timbaland rhythms to Black Sabbath heaviness; "Feed On You" comes out somewhere between Beverly Hills Cop and a phantom death march; "Dead Man Coming" loops soundtrack composer/Goblin member Fabio Frizzi's theme from Zombie Flesh Eaters with ragga rudeness courtesy Toastie Taylor of U.K. rap crew New Flesh; "The Wait," meanwhile, incorporates the experiments of Paul Lansky, the early synth pioneer whom Radiohead sampled on "Idioteque." "He's a mad Princeton professor who experiments with strange noises," Beaufoy explains. "We're obsessed," Pardy says. "We can usually find something positive and inspiring about most of the music out there, we then fuck it up and twist it into our own thing." Equally individual will be Evil Nine's kinetic new live show: it features Pardy and Beaufoy singing and playing dueling bass guitars, synthesizers, samples onstage, an actual human drummer, fittingly spooky visual phantasmagoria along with group's new full-length They Live!—a worthy successor to their 2005 album debut You Can Be Special Too, one of the most acclaimed electronic albums in recent memory. www.evil9.net Wavewhore Hardcore Beats - Broke Recordings - BreaksFM - Electrofly Records – Bombtraxx – New York City, USA With releases on high profile record labels such as Hardcore Beats, Broke, BreaksFM, Electrofly and Bombtraxx, New York City based Wavewhore has firmly established himself as one of the nation's top electronic music producers. His skills behind the decks have also led to headlining appearances across the US and in Europe and he has appeared on BBC Radio 1 London, KISS FM London, WKTU 103.5 FM New York and Sirius Satellite Radio. In addition, Wavewhore is a resident at the Sullivan Room, one of New York City's premier underground venues and he regularly hosts 'The Audio Tactics Sessions' on the Breakspoll award-winning BreaksFM internet station. www.wavewhore.com www.myspace.com/wavewhore 2 Damn Cheeky (Rich Foster and Rob Keith) 2 Damn Cheeky (Rich Foster and Rob Keith) have been resident DJ's at New York's Sullivan Room for a number of years. They met back in 2002 and quickly cemented a successful partnership playing regularly across North America. Between them they have DJ'd alongside seasoned heavyweights including Felix Da House Cat, Masters at Work, Steve Angello, Paolo Mojo, Dirty Vegas, Deep Dish, Eric Morrillo, DJ Dan, The Scumfrog, DJ Colette, Lisa Shaw, D-Fuse, Hector Romero, Martin Solveig and Behrouz just to name a few. Collectively, they have rocked countless venues including Amnesia, The Sullivan Room, Le Souk; headlined Pacha and Crobar as well as playing some of the world's hottest spots including Miami, Spain, Mexico, Tokyo, UK, Toronto and Monte Carlo. www.myspace.com/2damncheeky The American Dream Team The American Dream Team is on the frontier of audio-visual sets reaching the masses. 22. On Saturday, December 27th, join KGB as we celebrate the holidays with one of our favorite resident duos, BIT CRUSHERS. The same guys that brought you ³Sullivan Room Volume 2² as well as numerous releases on top labels like Little Mountain Records, Seven Limited, Omnis and more, are back to rock the dance floor with their tough grimy sounds of tech-house, minimal , and electro! For those unfamiliar, Bit Crushers is made up of 2 veteran DJ/producers, Amos Damon (aka DJ Fame) & Gaby Dershin (1/2 of of Astro&Glyde). The guys have been so busy touring and putting major efforts in the studio they haven¹t had time for a home town gig together since August! This time around we celebrate not only a new release from the BC team, ³What She Said² out December 16th on Dynamic Musik... But we also celebrate another year of life for Gaby Dershin! Make sure to come down and get your punches in, weather you know him or not! The two quickly found their way into the studio at the intersection of Amos' bouncy tech-house soundtrack and Gaby's lust for head-boppin' Ibiza buzz bass. Almost at will the newly formed Bit Crushers began mixing up street-wise beats on the sly at Dershin's Lower East Side studio united by a singular vision – the dance floor experience. So it came as little surprise when their productions began receiving acclaim from top jocks worldwide. In 2007 Bit Crushers made their presence felt on the world stage with the widely received summer anthem "Love Takes So Long" featuring Hadley. On the strength of last year's success, their latest offerings have been treated to stealthy reworks from Oliver Giacomotto, Alex Kenji, Medway and Oliver Molden. They return in 2008 to sport a chart busting sophomore effort from Seven Limited and Omnis Recordings with "Wanna Ride" featuring Kovas and "Movin' to Fast" (reached #11 on Balance Record Pool) with Hadley again lending her signature voice. Bit Crushers have also been spotted on the Essential Mix, Digweed Radio and have recently seen action on the Toolroom Knights compilation by Tom Novy and "Love Takes So Long" remixer Wally Lopez. New York's Quarterlife Recordings serves "Up in Yo Face" in April and, fresh off the vinyl press from Holland's Little Mountain Recordings is the club-hop anthem "Time to Werk" featuring Medusa Fire - rumored to be a personal favorite of label chief Sander Kleinenberg. Recently, they compiled and mixed the eagerly anticipated dual-disc follow up "Sullivan Room Volume 2" which showed two different sides of the their musical tastes with a peak hour electro set on disc one, and a deep and creepy late night tech-house set on disc 2. DISCOG: 2008 - "Category 5" - We Are Here - "Snag Tag" - We Are Here - "How 'bout Monday" - Omnis Recordings - "Time to Werk " ft Medusa Fire - Little Mountain - "Movin' too Fast" ft Hadley – Omnis Recordings - "Wanna Ride" ft Kovas – Seven Limited - "Up In Yo Face"– Quarter Life Recordings - "Sullivan Room Volume 2" mixed & compiled by Bit Crushers - "How Bout Monday" – Omnis 2008 - "It's Over" Bit Crushers Remix – Omnis 2008 2007 - "Shampoo" Bit Crushers Remix – Omnis - "Something Amazing" ft Hadley – Jojo Boni - "You Make Me Crazy" ft Ana Herrero – NOSI Music - "Love Takes So Long" ft Hadley – Seven Limited - "Pictured Us" – Water Based Music - "Sick Thing To Do" ft Medusa Fire – Water Based Music - "Radio in My Brain" - Seven Limited
