  3. Mesmer - Seductive Catalog: SCAR27 Release date: May 30th, 2011 Label: Scarcity Records ( http://www.scarcityrecords.com ) Mesmer turns in a deceptively subtle yet rolling and bass heavy piece of a breakbeat tune with a pinch of 80s electro feel in some places. Kid Digital provided a real imposing, tearout-ish, breaks monster of a remix with driving, opulent, ample bass line that will surely make your trousers pump. And while hungarian producer tOOk uses a real musical style to create his funky and glitchy remix, australian breaks legend EK provides a solid remix with a massive acid crunch that is sure to be an assault on the senses. PREVIEW AND/OR BUY (BEATPORT) PREVIEWS AT SOUNDCLOUD Some reactions: Karton (Sound of Habib) - "Original, Kid Digital and EK remixes are all awesome!" Kickflip - "Nice stuff all round! Kid Digital remix takes this package for me." Left/Right (Sound of Habib, Downbeat) - "Diggin' the EK remix!" Monk3ylogic - "Laidback and very smooth. Nice EP." RuN RiOT (WeAreLive Rec / Best New Producer, Breakspoll 2011) - "BIG release this! Great original and three quality remixes! Kid Digital just shades it for me." Yreane (XSSR, Scarcity) - "Cool release from Scarcity where I love every track and can't decide which is my fav! Top work!" Fisso & Spark (Dead Famous Rec) - "Quality release! Great vibes! Will play Original and EK remix for sure!" Abdomen Burst (Pure FM) - "Kid Digital is really awesome. Like his beats and dirty sound. I am impressed." Duane Barry / Innuendo (DSUK) - "Awesome original - not that I'm surprised by that! Wicked deep melodic grooves and I absolutely the techy/mechanical stuff in the 2nd part. I'm a fan of the remixers, EK always does something groovy and nasty, tOOK does a great job of toning it down a bit without losing any of the energy from the original and as for Mr. Digital, he's as mental as always - love it! " Line Of Sight (Morphosis, Scarcity) - "WOW! Original is absolutely superb! As well as EK Remix. Also feeling the tOOk Remix." Yanix (Ridiculoud Rec) - "This is a great package. The Original has got the usual Mesmer vibe all over it - nice bassline and a great groove! The Kid Digital Remix beefs things up a bit, and to great effect! The tOOk Remix is well done. EK is always putting out very unique pieces of work, and this is no exception. It has a nice bounce to it, but it's also got a tough, nasty edge as well." Sketi (En:Vision) - "Cool track. Love the Original and Kid Digital Remix equally. Will see its way into my sets - 7/10" Ceos (Downbeat) - "5/5 - Full support!" 4. Hello boys and girls! Line of Sight - Bubblegun Original + High Eight, Deenk, Jurassik Rmx! Catalog: SCAR09 Release date: June 8th, 2010 Label: Scarcity Records ( http://www.scarcityrecords.com ) About this release: Its summertime! And so we bring you summer vibes! Line of Sight is a talented producer from Varna, Bulgaria making his way through to the most wanted progressive breaks artists of the moment. After few appearances on Scarcity as a remixer (And quite some wicked stunning remixes he delivered I may say) he is now back with an original tune that has got all the right ingredients to make your night at the club on the beach just perfect. Bubblegun is all about tight beats and beautiful atmosphere that go off deep into your mind; the surprise comes at the breakdown where Line of Sight plays his electric guitar and from there on the tune keeps building in a very sweet manner until you hit YEAH! High Eight makes everything even more tighter and rolling and adds vocoder elements and wicked effects over the electric guitar theme from the original transforming the tune into a perfect summer outdoors festival peak time roller. Deenk, from Cádiz, Spain is definitely a new talent to watch for! The guy has got mad skills and proves himself as a real beat wizard; if you are into your rolling, stomping, feet shuffling breaks then this mix shouldn’t leave your case for the whole summer! Jurassik takes all the melodic elements from the original and puts them into the wobbly blender then pours the electric guitar theme over and adds some straight-beat breaks in a tasty 8-bit Atari Meets Breaks manner. Reactions: Bill Vega (En:vison, Bassrock, Downbeat) - "Big fan of Line Of Sight, I like the Trancey/Progressive style they have but they keep the beats a lot tougher than most progressive breaks which is what disappoints me about most Progressive Breaks. I like the Original a lot but I think the Deenk Remix is fucking spot on, I absolutely love it, 9/10 High Eight and Jurassic remixes are also good, a great package but the Deenk Remix was always gonna be the stand out track for me here" Ian "Daniella Downs" (Dead Famous) - "SO yes @ the High Eight Remix! Super win!" Kultur (iBreaks) - "Fantastic Release! Fresh sounds! The Original mix, the Jurassik Remix and High Eight Remix are 100% perfect for the dancefloor! I will support it in my Kultura Breakz show in the next weeks and also in my live sets. Favourite Track is the Jurassik Remix (4/5)" 601 (Rocstar) - "We will be supporting the Deenk and High Eight mixes on this one, mate. Another solid release!" Run Riot (We Are Live) - "Lovin the energy in the Deenk Remix. Tasty drums too!" Henry D (Bombtraxx, High Grade) - "I like the Original, will definitely be playing. High Eight Remix is nice too" Pale Penguin (V.I.M.Records, The Scientifics) - "Strong package. Original and Jurassik Remix with that killer bass for me! I will defo be playing them and chart them in my new chart!" Wrexx (En:vision, Scarcity) - "Original – Solid groove that keeps it flowing from start to finish. Loving the distorted guitar towards the end, really compliments melody / High Eight Remix – What really stands out in this is the effect Neil chose to ride over the guitar, gives it extra character. Solid remix for sure / Deenk Remix – The one thing that loses it for me with this one is the melodic pad that comes in right at 0:28. The detuning aspect of it drives me crazy! Especially when its placed as a main ingredient to the backbone of the track / Jurassik Remix – Nintendo Versus Lfohhhhh. This could be a song you would hear while on the last level of Contra. Scarcity for President!" Yreane (XSSR, Scarcity) - "The Deenk Remix is the one for me in this package. Monster tune! Also like Jurassik Remix musically" PREVIEWS ON SOUNDCLOUD BUY THIS RELEASE ON BEATPORT More reactions, info and loads of goodies on our website: http://www.scarcityrecords.com Hope you like these hehe Cheers!
  5. Hey, everybody! The 7th release from Scarcity Records *Breakspoll Best New Label Nominee* is out today and it goes like this Please take a moment and check Leuce Rhythms - Headroot (Your Love) (SCAR07) Original + Retroid, B-Phreak, Phrea Spirit Remixes! Release date: 26 Apr, 2010 Genre: Breaks, Drum&Bass Artwork: Negru Mastering: Adeser About this release: The next release on Scarcity introduces a quite fresh act to the breaks scene: Leuce Rhythms (Richard Hale and Dan De Lissandri); The duo from Leeds definitely have a sound worth checking out. Their music is pure nuskool breaks, yet deep but heavy party style influenced with a sprinkle of techno added to the mix to give this bright young sparky group an absolute unique and fresh flavor that we have been very inspired by. The hungarian breaks don Retroid takes all the elements from the original into a deep space journey that keeps going until you reach a bright distant star that explodes into a beautiful bass supernova right in front of your eyes. The B-Phreak Remix is a wonderful and flawless fusion of beats, quick edits, bass and the melodies form the original cleverly turned into this pumping mechanical breaks track. This release wouldnt be complete without the genius remix from Phrea Spirit, a young and very talented producer from Moscow, Russia. With stunning attention to detail he shapes the original into a fresh, chilled and atmospheric half-step drum&bass that will surely make you think about the purple sunset on the warm white sand on your dream island! PREVIEWS ON SOUNDCLOUD PREVIEWS ON MYSPACE BUY ON BEATPORT Some reactions: "Full support for Retroid Remix from me! Great stuff!" Tony Tay (En:vision) "Wow, I really dig the B-Phreak Remix! Lunar Shift (Ego Shot) "The Phrea Spirit Remix is my choice. This is hot liquid d'n'b stuff! Original and Retroid Remix are nice too." Parallax Breakz (RUNE, Ego Shot, Scarcity) "All four tracks are really nice but the Retroid Remix really stands out for me - Will be playing these tracks for sure!" Duane Barry (Digital Sensation UK) "Curl : Loving the Retroid Remix, it stood out on the Break Wind Show last night too! And also the Phrea Spirit Remix - I am loving the summer terrace/lounge vibe on this mix big time! Dean : The Retroid Remix is quality, so so nice, pure summer smasher here, deep tingly Wingly vibes, played it on the show last night and will be playing it again and again! Also - Loving the chilled riddems of the Phrea Spirit Remix, nice headonistic Drum & Bass perfect for that day when you get the BarBQ on, beer in hand and nothing else matters, love the Austin Powers stab, will be playing this when ever I get to the chance to play outdoors!" Curl & Dean (Scarcity) "Listened to the release a couple times. I totally love all the mixes! B-Phreak is my fav here, and I also enjoy the Phrea Spirit Remix a lot, very cool. Great stuff. Keep them coming man!" Home Alone (Dead Famous, Scarcity) "Nice release! Retroid as always on top. B-Phreak is also good." Release date: 22 Feb, 2010 Genre: Breaks, Tech House Artwork: Negru Mastering: AudioGate About this release: The next installment in the Scarcity catalog is a rolling, uplifting and very energetic breaks tune, from Bucharest based producer, Mesmer. In his own, very recognizable by now, style, Mesmer unleashes a proper peak time monster that has it all: growling bassline, lush vocals bits with powerful synth chords and chunky beats! Bag comes packed full of remixes, to satisfy even the most exigent tastes in electronic music: from the tight drums, bass heavy, storming Line of Sight Remix , to the darker, big bass line, twisted vocals and dubby effects of Great Scott Remix, to the very atmospheric dark piece of tech house Quentin Remix, to the lush, deep, electro breaks remix of Adeser and to the Lain Christoph Remix that retains the harmonics of the original and takes it to the dancefloor with a throbbing bassline and deep, subtle swelling pads. In the end, Line of Sight provides a bonus dub version, that brings out the more melodic and emotional elements of the original with a wonderful fusion of driving electro bass and futuristic electronic tweaks to create an energetic progressive voyage. PREVIEWS ON SOUNDCLOUD PREVIEWS ON MYSPACE BUY ON BEATPORT Some reactions: 601 / Rocstar - “Loving the Original and the Great Scott Remix on this a lot. The Original brings the rave vibes in a big way and I can see it working at peaktime in a big way! The Great Scott Remix is exactly the sorty of thing we like in 601, nice and experimental and the breaks sound great! The other mixes are good but these were the two that grabbed me!†Stefan Anion - “Great Scott remix is amazing! I really like the Original too†Retroid / Morphosis, Ego Shot - “Yeah! 7. Hey, peeps! We are pleased to announce our forth release: Beta vs Mesmer - Tetris (SCAR04) Original + Remixes from Retroid, Jariten, Quentin About this release: Beta and Mesmer turn in a mind blowing, dancefloor rocker that surely wont dissappoint these guys' fans. A tasty Christmas treat, that couldn't fit better on any label other than Scarcity Records, featuring remixes by Retroid, Jariten (aka Johan Soh) and Romania's 4/4 finest, Quentin. The Hungarian breaks don, Retroid, created an atmospheric yet energetic rethink on the original and has also added his own original production to the breakdown, definitely delivering some serious peak-time business. The Bearded man, Sound of Habib honcho, Jariten's rework is quite a special breakbeat affair with wobbly bassline and added synths and pads over the original melody, with a quirky broken beat that is offset every 8 bars. Refreshing! Quentin had to do the terrible job of shoving a 4/4 remix into a breaks package but he managed this nicely, using the energy of the original and still keeping the sound nice and gentle. PREVIEWS ON SOUNDCLOUD PREVIEWS ON MYSPACE BUY ON BEATPORT Some reactions: Flack.su (Glack Audio) - "Huge release! As far as I'm concerned there is no doubt that the Original is Scarcity's best so far, really like it, gets my full support. Jariten and Retroid did a good job as well." Ian Daniella Downs (Dead Famous) - "Original without a doubt. I have played this tune countless times over the past few months. Absolutely LOVE it!" Left/Right (Sound of Habib / Scarcity) - "Nice one! Digging the Original and the Retroid Remix. Great set builders." Duane Barry (Digital Sensation UK) - "Wicked original track - About time this came out properly! Great techy synths and loads of bleeps - My favourite has to be Retroid Remix though it's fantastic, the bass in particular, especially in the break is great! Already featured on my show this week and won't be the last time I play I'm sure!" Pato (Onpa) - "All mixes green light! Adam's the finest! Très bien! Where is my GameBoy?" Parallax Breakz - "Original is superb. Classic rolling breaks with great flying progressive sounds. It is one of the best breaks tune I've heard last time. Very impressive work. Also I like the remix by Retroid. It's very atmospheric and melodic." Lunar Shift (Ego Shot) - "Original - Strong beats and the dark moody effects work well. The track rocks along nicely as a whole. This is the best track in the release and will certainly be getting played by us. Retroid Remix - Retroid doing what he does best, strong beats with a techy/trance feel to the track. The break down works well and is a good track to start of a set with. Jariten Remix - Very interesting track, we like this, something a bit tougher with a melodic background. Good mix down and the remix overall compliments the release. Quentin Remix - Well made track that holds true to the original mix well, but has an interesting take on it. Overall the release has a good balance of styles, something for everybody, good choice of artists!" Undecided (Mob / Sango Music) - "Great release dude. Really feeling the Original and the Quentin's High Score Remix. Label is looking and sounding great my man." T.R.O. (Maschinen Musik) - "Solid release with a lot of deepness in all mixes. Original is a pretty cool tune. Retroid remix totally catched me. Excellent work on the drums, phat rolling, swirling beats that remind you what breaks is all about." Kyulo (iBreaks) - "Mesmer & Beta on one track, there's just no way this can go wrong! I've played the Original many times and it still hasn't aged since then. Such a FAT tune, that's what it is! Retroid and Jariten Remixes are both killer tunes, difficult to pick a favorite, they're both top quality! That also goes for the Quentin Remix, it's a totally different direction than the rest of the pack, but that's just what makes it so interesting! That's another top release for Scarcity! Big ups for putting out that much quality releases in such a short time!" Line of Sight (Morphosis / Scarcity) - "Original mix is absolutely wicked, Retroid remix is my favorite though - Deep and rolling progressive monster! Yet another superb release from Scarcity!" Pale Penguin (V.I.M Records) - "The Original is a great tune! Floating n’ spacey, phat, proggy influences, I will play it for sure! Retroid Remix is excellent! Really phat, top quality stuff. The other two remixes are good also. Another really good release by Scarcity! Keep on the good work! Dudawles (Influenza Minus) - "All of them are really nice but the Quentin Remix does it for me personally!" 8. Hey, everyone! We are pleased to announce our second release: Mesmer - Fine Wide Spread (SCAR02) Original + Remixes from 601, Youthful Implants, Pake About this release: If you have been following Mesmer you know his personal style of progressive , bassline heavy, clean cut breakbeat style quite well by now. Fine Wide Spread is a four absolutely class tracks release of Scarcity style goodness. The Original is a feel-good nuschool stomper, an experimentation of blending brass and leads with lush whispery vocal bits and filthy basslines resulting into cosmic melodies that are set to make your soul shiver. The well known breaks producers from UK, 601 are delivering a remix with an even more dancefloor friendly sound, with energetic rhythms that have a little bit of breakstep flavor, turning the original into a deep and proggy masterpiece. Melbourne based producer Youthful Implants delivers a storming dancefloor groover with a massive club appeal - If you're into raw and energetic breakbeats, then this is definitely the one for you! Finally we have a remix from Romanian deep dark master producer Pake who tears the track into a dubstep monster. PREVIEW ON SOUNDCLOUD BUY ON BEATPORT Some reactions: Uberzone - "Cool track Mesmer, very lush and musical! I like all the changes" Dan F (Disuye) - "I like it. Brass really stands out" Kickflip - "Hey dude, cheers for sending the new one over! Nice one" Ariel Cybana - "You guys did a very good job and they sure rock out!" Flack su (Glack Audio) - "The Original one is that stands out for me again. So far so good" Palepenguin (VIM Records) - "Really GOOD stuff! Quality phat beatz, astonishing synths and top quality as always. Loving the 601 Remix. Excellent stuff!" Kyulo (iBreaks) - "Original: Amazing track, great breakdown, superb bassline and drumwork. Very musical tune / 601 Remix: Love the bass and the progression of the track, very nice remix / Youthful Implants Remix: Lovely dubby remix, keeping the funk depth and a touch of dirt. Great job / Pake Remix: Deep but not static, enormous bass and very cool drums, love this one / This is just a great package, didn't expect it to be less than that!" Dj Marty B (Fresh FM) - "Another top release from Scarcity and I've heard this one played out recently. The Original Mix is wicked and typical of Mesmer's high class sound that he has forged for himself over the last 12 months. My fave on this release though is the 601 Remix, more like this please" Ryzi (NSB Radio) - "Original is packed with the straight up Mesmer vibes that everyone has come to know and love. Really enjoyed the 601 remix as well, keeping all the smooth vibes from the original but with a wicked new steppy groove! I give the package 4/5 stars based on the strength of the original and 601 mixes!" Line of Sight (Morphosis, Scarcity) - "I like the mood and the energy of the original. You have my support!" Anti-Science (Waveshape) - "Really like the tracks mate!" Tomasan (Break Beats and the Gang) - "Very surprising remix from Pake, excellent groove, you can actually feel the funky original within the deep reconstruction. Loving it!" 9. Scarcity Records, Romania ( http://www.scarcityrecords.com ) Scarcity was initiated by Romanian breakbeat producer Mesmer with the intention of taking a modern approach to the old-school sound, to modernize the classic breakbeat sound. With an eclectic view, Scarcity will drop progressive breaks and tech house tunes for the dance floors worldwide while maintaining a catalogue of productions that sets a standard of quality. If you like your beats dipped in lush melodies, acidic hooks and thunderous basslines, then this is a label worthy of your attention. With planned releases and remixes from some of breakbeat's biggest artists such as BETA, The Peepshow Owners, Neztic, Johan Soh, Stefan Anion, Mesmer and many others, Scarcity is surely set to establish itself as a quality breaks label. Our releases will stay true to our belief that breaks is powerful yet deep, making your mind and soul throb. Mesmer and Dj Zinn - Thinking of You (SCAR01) Scarcity Records steps in with a brilliant debut release produced by Mesmer and Dj Zinn. An ever haunting vocal hook laced over deep and lush melodies that intertwine with a healthy slab of driving breakbeats is what "Thinking of You" delivers. Besides the original, the single includes 4 remixes that switch between different moods and styles making it accessible for any type of crowd. Takomo opts for a signature rolling bassline driven remix which makes a dramatic contrast with the atmos and adds more nerve for the chin stroking fans while Yreane pitches the tempo down a bit and immerses deeper with a more percussive take and a huge breakdown that suits well any afterhours set. Quentin pulls out a proggy 4/4 tribalistic pumper which builds well and preserves enough of the original feel. Last but not least, Wesley Dysart adds the finishing touch in a nasty and stylish electro-house flavoured number. 01. Mesmer and Dj Zinn - Thinking of You (Original Mix) [7:46] 02. Undecided (Mob Records) "Strong strong release guys, well done!" 601 (Polar Red) "Original - Great vocal, I've seriously had that vocal hook in my head all week, who is she? Typical Mesmer quality - deep, groovy, melodic - wicked tune. Great to get a tune like this at this speed. Quentin Remix - Really nice proggy house take on this. Keeps enough of the vocal, but chops it up nicely. Takomo - Wow, a much more tuff remix, love it. Feels fast - almost got a DnB feel, the rhythms are great - really like this. Great contrasting build, with the atmos and vocal. Peak time this one. Wesley Dysart - More of an electro house/ break cross-over remix. Like the riff in the build. Yreane - A much more chilled mix, really like the drums and the guitarish lead. I think the Original and Takomo remix will be getting the most love from me and I think I've found a new favourite label." llupa (NSB Radio) "The original's housy sci-fi vibe is definitely on my beam. Very nice 'n' mellow also the Yreane Mix. Certainly my type. A pity there will be no vinyl of this" Pato (Onpa Rec) "Original mix all the way for me" Ian "Daniella Downs" (Dead Famous Rec) "This whole pack sounds brilliant, esp the Original" DLaid (Atomfast) "Wicked debut release from scarcity, Original Mix is my pick of this quality bunch" Mark (Yellow Finger Rec) "Takomo Remix is the best for me" Retroid (Morphosis) This release is out today 5th Oct, 2009 BUY YOUR COPY ON Beatport Juno Digital Tunes Addictech Audio clips and Free Remix on Scarcity website http://www.scarcityrecords.com http://www.myspace.com/mesmer1979 http://www.myspace.com/tak0m0 http://www.myspace.com/yreanemusic http://www.myspace.com/soundofquentin http://www.myspace.com/wesleydysart Hope you gonna like this one, guys! 1luv!
