Every Wednesday evening, starting at 5pm, Jondi & Spesh host a five hour club night at the 111 Minna Gallery in San Francisco. The music, mostly electronic, has a progressive theme, from electro, to breaks to techno, to progressive house and even ambient. Each DJ plays a short 45 minute set, and the talent ranges from bedroom DJs to international supastars. All are welcome, and partygoers are a chaotically diverse yet harmonious mix of electronic music loving phreeks, suit clad downtown wage slaves, hippies, artists, trust fund babies, neighborhood homeless, and international tourists. The enthusiasm and dedication of Qoölios is world famous. In fact Qoöl is often pegged for its personal vibe and all out "Saturday night" feeling. Gareth Emory bio: Whether it was his critically acclaimed debut on the BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, or his rise to number 23 in the definitive DJ Mag Top 100 Poll, there wasn?t much that didn?t go right for Gareth Emery in 2008, a year that saw him become increasingly established as one of the most innovative, unique, and exciting figures in modern dance music. With his numerous world-class productions topping charts everywhere, and his explosive DJ sets continuing to pack out clubs across the globe, you could be forgiven for thinking he?s a long-established dance music old hand. Well he?s not: he?s 28, and as it happens, he?s only just getting started. Writing and playing music is fundamental to Gareth Emery. DJ Boris started his ascension to these ranks in 2004, when the native of St. Petersburg, Russia took up residence at New York super club Crobar. It was the culmination of years of workhorse gigging at almost every club across the Big Apple. But it was more than that too: It was a movement that has shown no signs of fading. Boris (birth name: Boris Inzhin) started moonlighting as a DJ while taking classes at the Institute Of Audio Research in New York. With a metronomic mixing ability and a penchant for expansive, groove-based power-house music, the jock quickly found work both in DJ and production booths, playing at clubs like Exit, and Roxy, and remixing artists like Janet Jackson, Jewel and Gloria Estefan. In 2002, his mix of Pink?s ?Get This Party Started? hit No.1 on the Billboard Hot Club Play chart. His relentless approach to bring his cult of followers the best sound and experience possible has taken his production to even greater heights. Powerhouse industry labels like *69 Records, and Stereo Productions have wasted no time in signing Boris projects to their labels.
