  1. I def think 9/10 times, saying a track is old is an insult. From a DJ standpoint, it connotates that you have or have heard better tracks and don't need to be botherd by older stuff. Makes you sound more cutting edge and on top of the music. In the club scene, older stuff may be a good thing to keep the crowd motivated, but in the rave scene, its all about breaking out new shit before anyone else. Old Music=No Bookings. From a clubbing standpoint, I guess it depends on your personality. I like to hear new shit and can't stand old [more than a yr] music. I'd rather stab myself than hear Darude-Sandstorm at a club one more time.

  2. kinda old school KTU but remixed. i think this is somewhat old...but anyway the hook is a female vocal saying "i met a boy, his name was jake, he was so fine, i met a girl, her name was jane, she wants to be mine"

  3. CDRWIN does this very easily. Heres what to do. Turn the mix into a .wav file. Find all the times you want the track to have a cue point [a cue point is when the track switches from one to another ie 23min:14secs:25hundreth of a sec] I use mp3trackmaker to do this. It uses winamp to play the .wav and allows you to pull out the track times. Finally you must write a cue sheet to tell your burner progrm where the file is on your harddrive and at what times to set cue points. .

Here is a basic cue sheet...

    FILE "C:\WAVS\album.wav" WAVE

    TRACK 01 AUDIO

    INDEX 01 00:00:00

    TRACK 02 AUDIO

    INDEX 01 04:26:21

    INDEX 01 34:40:48

i've ran into a lot of problems setting this program up, but now it works like a charm. Don't forget cue sheets are read in 75 second frames meaning when using times xx:yy:zz, zz cannot be over 75 or it will be and invalid command. Just a small hint that gave me agida for awhile. PM me if you need more help

  6. i went sober!! to listen to the music and dance a little. In my opinion, the party was OK. It kinda reminded me of a frat party. Lotsa people just standing around, a couple people dancing and some people just wacked out of their minds.

Anyway, musically speaking, I have to hate on PLeasurehead right now. I've heard all the hype about him recently and even went to his website to brush up on his style and all. Promoters and all them make him sound like the god of trance but uhh News Flash, he sucks reaaaaaaal bad. Definitely the least talented DJ that was there. Talk about the opposite of JP, this guy wouldnt play a song for more than 2 minutes. Right when the melody or so would kick in, he'd come in with a swift trainwreck into the next song. I genuinally felt bad for him, because his set was embarrasing.

    Main Highlights:

Alan Sax - This guy's set was on point. Perfect mixing [worked with the kill switches like a pro], mad energetic, good tracks

Scott Henry - 1st time I hear him. Played some dope prog. house/techno

Frankie Bones - dope techno. couple trainwrecks. I've heard him do better though

KooKane - Hard trance. Perfect mixing.

DJ Pauly - UK Hard House. Tore it apart. His set had the most people dancing all night. His beats were real hard and quick. I enjoyed it 100%

  7. my technics are about 3 or 4 years old and I've been noticing that when I turn my slider from 0% to 2% positive pitch change, the platter doesnt speed up and only starts speeding up from 2% on. Strange this is it works fine in the whole negative direction. I opened it up two check for "two zeroes" and that wasnt the problem, and even adjusted my VR-Pitch Pot to make sure the tables were at true gain %. Its wierd because both my tables are having the same exact problem.

Any suggestions or numbers to Technics Refurbishing companies I can call?

  8. how come "R.B.A - No Alternative" gets no love by any NYC DJ's?? Its a hot track with an NYC style synth that is banging it out in the UK right now. The only person I've heard play it here is Judge Jules, and the whole place went bananas. Released in Mid March. It reminds me of a Kernkraft type jam but 2001 mix. I put it on my last two promos and it never gets old. Theres 3 mixes if you need any of them. Send a PM

  9. i heard from a professor that as you reach your twenties, it is more difficult for your brain to accustom itself to learning a new hobby, such as playing a sport or perhaps even djing. Look at how many bad golfers there are out there. Anyway, as long as you have a musical background or can think in beats and measures, you will be fine.
