Wut wut, word. You ARE joking right? Hip Hop on the main floor at Exit? I hope to God Dave Marvisi never makes that mistake. Gatien made it once with Tunnel, and it killed the place. Thugs and Juiceheads on the same floor? Hire more bouncers and put em in Flak jackets! PLURR? Never seen it in Hip Hop. Every event I spin that has a hip hop room has a bad vibe. Sadly, it never used to be that way. "Thug Appeal" was a joke "back in the day." Not Steriotyping, just making note of what I've witnessed over the past 17 years as a DJ.

You're kidding right? The artists you've named are the most irritating of all! Busta & Jay Z? They are the PRIME examples of how badly hip-hop has deteriorated. DJChris...Country hip hop? I'm comin' to Tx with ya. But i thought you WANTED your wife to run off with a Steer????

LMAO...Chris. And to think I'd get blasted for such a post. Okay, so if 'today's' hip hop sucks...why the hell is it still getting airplay? Who in God's name could prefer the hip hop mix of some vocal tracs over JP's, Hex's, Vicious', Thunderpuss', etc???? I really miss being able to drop a hip hop trac without a 'thug fight' breaking out!

I am probably opening myself up for a housing project of abuse on this one, but seriously…what’s the deal with Hip Hop? I’ve never witness anyone “Dance†to hip hop. Mostly all I see is a lot of jumping, @$$ swinging, and hard looks coupled with bad vibes being passed around the room. Personally, I only spin House and Progressive Trance. I’ve been DJing since 1983, and I do remember a time when Hip Hop was fun (Rob Base, 45 Kings, etc). But now hip hop seems to have taken on a new attitude, and it’s not a pleasant one. I’d love to hear everyone else’s thoughts on this one.

LOL I hear what you're saying about being overdressed. I was dressed for SF, but didn't feel up to the crowd. I got a few curious stares. It was 2AM by the time finished the night and left my own club in NJ, and I didn't get to Tunnel till 3:30. Young casual crowd, but who cares? It's not like I wanted to discuss corporate refinancing or the Democratic Socialism with them. I was just there for the music and to dance. Both needs were met. Hmm, to each their own. Next time i'll dress comfortably, and enjoy the shit outta myself. PLURR Bobby

That WAS funny as hell. I actually thought I was having a flashback one night from the previous time i was @ tunnel; but Zor was just playing exactly the same set. If you are unaware, Zor is playing second fiddle (opening for) Johnny Vicious. Vicious was definitely a breath...no, a GASP of fresh air for the club. Tunnel: Shh…it’s a secret Okay, I know by posting this I’m opening up for my happiness to be shot down within a month…BUT… I’ve always loved the Tunnel. Since the early days of Danny all the way through Steve Zor. There is something about the club. Maybe it’s the familiarity of the place. Maybe that it has always been a place to find great underground house. Maybe it’s because the underground house seems SO fitting in the eerie setting. Needless to say, I was blown away when I heard the talent of Johnny Vicious gracing the long club. There is something different, and it’s spectacular. But I had one unanswered question: Where the hell was everyone? Exit? Factory? Twilo? Good. I liked it that way. Uncrowded. Just me, my g/f, a few close friends, and the music. No sweaty juiced up guidos. No “I’m too beautiful for you†ladies. No “the Drama starts here†divas. Just music, dancing, and a very positive vibe in the tube. Due to my insane schedule at my own club, I won’t be back for a week or so. Hope things don’t change too much. Mark Anthony…kudos. Johnny Vicious…amazing night/morning. What a cute idea for a post. Well, my fiancée and I met working at the same club. She was a bartender, and I was spinnin’ with DJ Chris. It was kinda weird. At first she started dating one of my best friends who was a bouncer there (but tried to play her & got caught). The next thing I knew, we were living together. I fell in love with her, and her son. The rest is recent history, and we’re making a family. PLURR Bobby

Since I've assumed your residency, our dancefloor has been graced by a dancing turd which floated in from the ladies bathroom.
