Here we go again. After a very successful party last year I have decided to bring the Young Guns Party back this year. Starting this Sunday at 9PM come listen to the sounds of Joe Giorgio, DJ Prime and Anthony "The Moo" Moussa. Party starts at 12 noon on the patio with DJ Johnny Budz and WKTU at 4 PM join resident DJ Kirk Lopez as he begins to light the SURF CLUB on fire. Thank god someone that understands. I do this party so the local NJ dj gets his break to play a huge room. About them drawing people, they will maybe its out of their own click and maybe it is someone who just wants to hear a new young kid spin. I am not worried about their draw anyway. This Sunday has been around a long time and I have added my spice to it the last 4 years and it has only gotten better. It will be busy Sunday and I expect these DJs to do a great job the next two weeks. If your not impressed with this part of my calendar I think I make up with it in the next 12 weeks. Lets see the resident to the #1 club in the US (Space) and two other guys ranked in the top 100 plus the biggest record labels in the industry bringing their big dogs. I would say I am ready for the critics. So come Sunday enjoy the guys that play your Jersey clubs every week all winter and then make ur judgement.

The party starts on June 5th with once a month resident Denny Tsettos and weekly resident Anthony Moussa and hosted by KTU. Ladies are free til 12. Thats right free til 12. No guest list or nothing just come to the door and walk in for nothing. Also, I will be hosting my 3rd Annual Charity VIP Card Raffle. Buy one ticket and get a chance to win VIP Cards for SURF, XS, Temps and Sandbar. That's right one winning tickets get u all 4 cards. On July12th once a month resident Kirk Lopez (SURF CLUB) mans the wheels of steel with a special VIP party for all members of Golds Gym Belleville and Whippany. This Party is being co-hosted by all your summer hot spots: Temps, SURF CLUB, Sandbar and XS.

These fools as you put them are kids that are trying to make it in a really tough industry. You talk a great game when it comes to music. Have you ever tried DJing before. I did as a joke a few years back and it was the hardest thing I have ever tried. How are these guys supposed to make it if people like me, vip tech, etc dont give them a chance. Everyone had to start somewhere. Ask Denny or Richie Rydell who they owe their first big break to I guarantee its some friend or nightclub manager. I am really looking forward to next Sunday and the Sunday after. I did this young guns thing last year and they were 2 of the best weeks the SURF had all summer. Yeh I could bring some of that top level talent in these two weeks but I need some weeks to let the younger guys play this room.

I just got home and got on the board to see what the reviews were on my party yesterday at SURF. There are so many different threads about DJs, music, crowd, etc. I didnt want to answer every thread so I decided to start my own. About the music, the first DJ was Johnny Budz from 12-4. That spot is designed for the average music listener. It will be what people call "KTU cheese". Though I dont agree that it is cheese that is the music that will be played from that period weekly. It is for the average club goer. At 4 PM, resident DJ Kirk Lopez mans the wheels. I dont think I dont need to say anymore about Kirk Lopez. The guy is a master of the turntables. Him and I have been together on this Sunday for the last 3 or 4 years and I can honestly say the music at the SURF has never been better. At 9 PM our guest DJ/DJs will go on. For everyone's info last nights guest DJ was Johnny Maroney. As I have read on everyone's threads he did an excellent job. (I told all you guys that doubted me all week). This 9 PM slot is going to have some great names in its rotation. Just u wait and see. About the crowd last night it was unbelievable. Some of the most beautiful girls in the tri-state area. I can honestly say I was impressed with the quality. I have been running this party for a few years now and dont remember a memorial day Sunday with such eye candy. One thing I would like to apologize for is the wait that some people experienced outside. I tried to get people in as quick as I could but sometimes it isnt quick enough. Well I am glad everyone had a good time. Next week, DJs Joe Giorgio, The Moo & DJ Prime. See everyone there.

Like binoy I was not able to make it down there this past Saturday due to prior engagements. But for those that dont know it Teo is a great DJ and used to have XS rocking all Summer long on Saturdays. This Summer I dont know what else he is doing but he will be at the SURF on July 27th. Come check it out

Since I am the one that books all the entertainment at SURF let me go and defend my decision. First of all Johnny Maroney is a very good DJ. Those that were at SURF last Labor Day will agree. He also had a very successful party all winter at South Park on Saturdays. Next, yes he is my friend and for those who know me know that I will support a friend til I die. Last but not least, he is very knowledgable about the business and he is the only one I deal with that might have a better contact list then me. He helps me contact some of the bigger named DJs I use at SURF. Remember Robbie Rivera last year, how do u think I got him. Yeh he has played 5 times since he played the SURF but everyone made contact with him that night at the SURF. You talk to anyone that booked him after me and they will say the same thing before the SURF there was no way for people to get to this guy. Shit it went so well at SURF he had to get an agent from the NYC area to handle the demands. So back to the issue at hand, my summer schedule is one that the jersey shore has never seen before. I have at least 3 DJs that fall in the top 100 in the world according to DJ magazine. When was the last time a guy in the top 100 played the shore? Never!!! I know how good Johnny is and I think my summer lineup justifies that I know DJ talent. So everyone enjoy the summer and the music. It all starts this Sunday with DJ Johnny Maroney. See you there.
