Does anyone else think that these "convenience" and other service fees associated with advance tickets have gotten out of control lately? I recently bought a $15 advance ticket online through ********* (because the venue told me over the phone that there would be no door sales) and was charged $5.30 in misc fees -- including a $1.25 "delivery fee" that basically entailed me printing the ticket on my own printer. Of course when I got to the club that night they were selling tickets at the door -- for $20 ($0.30 cheaper than what I paid for my advance ticket). The deception part aside, I can't help but think that a 35% mark-up is rather extreme for what was initially a relatively moderate cover charge. I'm also wondering how much these advance sales are affecting the club scene in general. After all, it eliminates much of the spontaneity that makes clubbing fun, sometimes leaving those who didn't plan ahead to skip a party, while others who did purchase an advance ticket might feel compelled to go out even if they're not really in the mood for it. I'm writing an article for the New York Press about this, so I'd be interested to hear any thoughts or horror stories anyone has on this subject. Matt

I'll definitely be there -- around 6am or so. Party goes all day -- probably until 6 or 7 pm on Sunday! Definitely the BEST party of the year. I'm coming from DC, and have tons of friends joining me from LA, Boston and Miami. It's mixed, as usualy, but definitely a GAY party. Can't wait. Matt

An acquaintance of mine died here in Washington, DC just last weekend from GHB. He was getting ready to go out, took some GHB, got sick, called 911, but help didn't arrive in time. He died alone in his apartment. VERY SAD! Please, please, please -- stay away from this very deadly liquid!!!
