  5. Having ridden motorcycles in the past I'm not biased one way or the other... but here a few facts from http://seriousinjury.com/motorcycle.html

    1998 Motorcycle Facts:

*2,284 motorcyclists died and approximately *49,000 were injured in highway crashes in the United States.

*Per mile traveled in 1998, a motorcyclist is approximately 16 times more likely to die in a crash than an automobile occupant. And 3x (times) as likely to be injured.

*Head injury is a leading cause of death in motorcycle crashes.

*In 1998, 46% of fatally injured motorcycle drivers were not wearing helmets at the time of the crash.

*NHTSA estimates that motorcycle helmets reduce the likelihood of a fatality by 29% in a crash.

*In 1998, 41% of all motorcycle drivers involved in fatal crashes were speeding.

*Nearly one out of five motorcycle drivers (18%) involved in fatal crashes in 1998 was operating with an invalid license at the time of the collision.

*Motorcycle drivers involved in fatal crashes in 1998 had higher intoxication rates than any other type of motor vehicle driver at 31%.

*In 1998, 500 motorcyclists lives were saved due to helmet usage; 307 could have been saved.

Final fact. NYC drivers don't give two shits about bikers.

The above sentence needs a bit of correction as follows:

    "Yes, that's my writing!

    I'm really smart."

You got your name right at least, but you need a space after the F.

But you are smart in the sense that you finally got a working mouse to cut and paste. If I'm wrong my apologies.

  7. What concerns me is not whether or not Twilo will be shut down... something will always replace it. My concern is how will this leave the state of affairs where big brother constantly watches your every move.

Accept one thing and a entire barrage of shit gets shoved down one's throat. Essentially this is the premise behind every constitutional challenge, the reason y ACLU exists.

  8. It goes like this... the mayor wants to be able to say, "Look what I did for the city, I cleaned up the windshield wipers, the clubbers, the ravers, the homeless, beers from any festivals, I censored art, yada, yada."

Then turn that around and the brunt of this shit comes down to the clubbers where the management takes it out on its patrons so they can say, "Look what we're doing, yada, yada..." to the Mayor. It's an ass kissing contest where we are the only losers out of this scenario.

It's a trickle down effect. The mayor has aspirations of being a Senator, no doubt. Wanna talk moderation, let's start with the mayor. I'm sorry I voted for that fuck in the first place.

Dinkins allowed everything. Giuliani allows nothing. Where the hell is Koch when you need him...

And no, shutting down clubs solves nothing, doesn't even make a small dent in the grand scheme of things...
